Cedar fair was the one that use the term "giga" first when they built Millennium Force. Thoosies thought of it as a scientifical definition when it really is just marketing, so cedar fair has the right to change the term whenever they want. Plus the drop is 300f, so that still counts as a giga. Maybe if it was on a flat plot of land it would've been taller than fury but even then, it's still a good ride and it's at my bucket list.

Pretty sure Orion breaks the record for world's tallest brake run.

This is basically a fact rather than a take. If it were at any other park in the world it would be hyped to no end. Instead, people wrongfully compare it to Diamondback.

@@terrencehill6772 it’s my home park too. They are definitely not the same at all. The speed and g-forces are emphasized more on Orion. Diamondback is all about floater air time. Orion literally has 1 camelback. The layouts are completely different. The track looks the same, but that’s where the similarities end. They don’t even have the same trains lol. They have similar track lengths, but Orion flies through its layout in the same time it takes DB to reach its MCBR. 😭

@@terrencehill6772 they are both Hyper coasters by b&m (one is a giga), but the similarities end at the top of the lift hill. The layouts are way different. Orion has more off-axis and banked elements that are taken at a much faster pace. Diamond back is almost exclusively camelback hills. I guess they might look the same to someone who doesn't know the difference, but a ride on both will end that thought. Alot of people get on orion hoping for the same floater airtime you get on DB, but end up disappointed, because the ride is more focused on speed since it's a giga. But on the other hand, some people who prefer Orion but don't know the difference between the two might want to experience more speed, and faster pacing, and Diamondback doesn't do it the same as "the blue one." NEITHER of them are overly-intense, but the "red one" is MUCH tamer haha. I agree that they may look similar to those who don't observe the profiling of the two drops, and there's only a 57 foot difference in height, but there's a BIG difference between a 301 foot drop and 215-feet. Also, sorry for rambling. I like talking coasters lol

I was lucky enough to have a dusk ride in the rain a few weeks ago and that definitely solidified it as my #2 (only behind mystic Timbers at night with rain)

Orion in the back row is amazing....so much fun!

Probably hate on it because it’s not what they were expecting, but honestly it’s great for what it is. Really nice layout.

I took my 11 yr old son to Kings Island today, we rode all the good stuff. BOTH our first time on Orion, they put us in the front cart. The climb and drop was INSANE!!! He loved it!! His favorite coaster in the whole park

Diamondback doesn't compare with the first drop. Millinium Force and Steel Vengence are 2 of the best first drops in Ohio. But, Orion is pretty darn good.

Personally I have ridden Orion about 12 times and i can stay neutral....The first drop is GREAT and it keeps some decent speed before it hits that brake run, also it IS NOT a GiGA Coaster, it's just litteraly NOT. I'm not 7 ft tall I'm 6'2 it's just a physical fact💯 Also it's really all and all a boring ride other than that first drop....It looks beautiful at night But I truly believe Cedar Fair and B&M could have done A lot better with this project, somebody dropped the ball

After the treble clef and hive dive Fury isn’t that special. 🤌🏽 We’re talking 3 or 4 drawn out bunny hills.

@@Meatloaf8 it’s the best coaster at kings island by far. It has an even better first drop than Fury it’s smooth and powerful. I don’t get the hate for this coaster it’s spectacular. A coaster doesn’t need to be as good as SV or Fury 325 to be great. The other coasters at kings island are not that good and mystic timbers and beast are 2 of the most overrated coasters in history
