This was only six months after Bianca's best friend was run over and killed trying to get her baby back from a psychopath. Nobody took into account that Bianca was traumatised by Tiffany's death which explained her behaviour in 1999. You don't just get over that kind of trauma overnight and nobody in this scene has any empathy for her. She says it herself at 2:10!

Ricky prepares for Bianca's birthday party. She's not impressed by his efforts. Bianca repeats her ultimatum to Dan: leave Carol or the truth will come out. Dan struggles to confess to Carol. The conversation takes an unexpected turn. Ricky takes Bianca to a kebab shop for their romantic dinner! His joke backfires when Bianca bursts into tears. The atmosphere is chill as they drive back to Walford. Ricky and Bianca return home. Bianca stumbles into the surprise party. She hides her anger and joins in the fun. Dan gives Bianca a lavish birthday present, a silver necklace. She throws it back at him. Dan decides to call her bluff. In high spirits, Carol tells Bianca that Dan has proposed. Bianca is devastated. Everyone gathers to cut the cake. Bianca rudely interrupts Carol's announcement. Harsh words are spoken. The party ends in disarray. Ricky's corners Bianca, demanding she apologise. When she refuses Ricky makes a dramatic decision. Ricky licks his wounds in the Arches. Natalie consoles him. Bianca and Carol row furiously. Dan looks on anxiously, waiting for the secret to slip. Bianca tells Carol some home truths. Carol exits, warning Bianca to leave before she gets back. Dan decides to act. He leaves Carol in the Vic and returns home. Dan and Bianca face off in the kitchen. Her assurance crumbles and her long buried feelings pour out. Dan is stunned. His resolve vanishes: they kiss passionately. A noise from the kitchen ensures things will never be the same.

I really felt for Bianca here, she’s clearly gone completely wayward being just 21 years old but, more so, it was so extremely soon after the death of the only mate she ever truly had in the whole wide world, Tiffany. I honestly believe that it’s rationally plausible that a person can end up doing what Bianca did coz of the desertion she was still feeling from Tiffany dying. Bianca’s subsequent antics with Dan may not have happened otherwise IMO. I think the poor girl was still grieving.

Hulk2k6 yeah you’re right. In fact I think it was like that even back when they were a trio at school together. I vaguely remember an episode where Natalie was recalling to someone about how envious she was watching Bianca and Tiffany getting ready to go “up West” and seeing how effortless it was for them to pull blokes and get into all the swanky bars and clubs and this was before any one of them moved to Walford. After Tiffany died there was also another episode just before she left for Manchester where Bianca, having seemingly dropped Tiffany’s memory almost as quickly as she did with Natalie, where she cornered her outside the Minute Mart and said, “listen Natalie, we’re still best mates and always will be yeah”? Natalie just gave her this half smile and pricelessly walked off. I’ll conveniently forget that Natalie did have a tiny affair with Bianca’s boyfriend Ricky....twice, although to be fair the second time he and Bianca weren’t together anymore. Not that I ever watch EastEnders or anything....

Then Liam, then she had a relationship with Ricky again and then Nathan Dean, who was Whitney's father, and he was believed to be Nathan's daughter, but DNA tests proved Ricky was her father. Morgan was Ray Dixon's son, but as she was in a relationship with Tony at the time, he was seen as Morgan's father and adopted him until. That was until his reign of terror was revealed to Bianca.

Bianca would never have had the affair if Tiffany had lived. She was traumatised by Tiffany’s violent death, and it left her friendless and vulnerable. Basically, Dan took advantage of that.
