This set of titles is my favourite of the lot. I love the colours on the map, with the greens, golds, greys and patches of blue. Very arty and attractive. It looks like they took the aerial images and then customised it by altering the colours to make it more unique. But unlike the current set of titles, they didn’t alter it to the point of it looking outlandish and not-at-all like London.

I see what the river Thames is meant to be; starts off good then the dip means something goes wrong as always in Eastenders, then as it levels off, everything is normal again.

Yes but 1998 saw two versions, the BBC logo fade in at around 00:11 seconds, and then when it was revised to fade in under EastEnders at the end.
