Claire Lally yes she did! She practically became a second mother to Stacey even more so when Zoe left and that left a massive hole in Kat’s heart especially when she found out that Zoe didn’t want anything more to do with her. She took Stacey on as her own daughter because (a) Stacey never really had a mother because Jean was ill not taking her medication etc... and Stacey had to grow up fast because she was the only one who was left looking after her mum. The rest of the family didn’t step up to help until they realised just how bad Jean was and what Stacey had to deal with from they age of 7 or 8 years old having to care for her mother alone as well as cook, clean and try and look after herself because her older brother had just walked out and left her! And (b) she knew that Stacey needed care and guidance and being shown what real love is especially parental love because Stacey had never really had that because of her dad dying when she was really young and Jean having mental breakdowns every other day! Kat loved and protected Stacey no matter what she did! You could clearly see Stacey changing when Kat returned. I don’t think Stacey would be the woman she is now if it wasn’t for Kat stepping in and help guide her.
