Max’s farewell was brilliant. He is sorely missed around the square. One of the best actors we have ever seen and is such an emotional powerhouse. I would love to see him back on our screens.

The Branning bothers were so good in their early years compared to what they turned into in the last few years as all Jack does these days is shout and Max left 3 years ago due to not getting any storylines anymore and with Derek they killed him of far to soon he was a brilliant character.

The problem is they ruined the characters. Derek was a bit of a panto villan and didn't last very long on the show overall. He had a ot more chaos he could have caused. They should have had him leave. Jack's story was always him and Ronnie and they stupidly decided they couldn't do anything else with Ronnie, but the show underestimates how much people do enjoy a happy couple (they could have drama that didn't centre around children for starters). Max was a consistent character until they did the prison story. He came back unhinged with everyone hating him like he'd actually murdered Lucy, then they wasted the pay off from the trauma he suffered in prison (he was self harming but they just swept everything under the carpet, and he somehow came back absolutely fine) and just made him potter about. No wonder he left.

If i could rank them from boring to entertaining, it wiuld be like this, 3. Jack- His character is a joke now and boring and dont know why Scott Maslen hasnt left the show yet when his character has no purpose. 2. Derek- Should have stayed for a bit longer since he had potential and always wanted him to meet his brother's Exes Ronnie and Stacey as well!! 1. Max- The most entertaining one out of the brothers since he had more better storylines and was more entertaining in the process!!

Max is the only Branning brother who was consistent as a character. Derek was good at first but they ruined him by turning him into Delboy and Jack became boring and stale after 2013.
