When I married my husband, he was confined to a wheelchair. He was in a wheelchair the full 42+ years we were married. I didn't learn of the true Gospel and the Savior's one true Church until I was 37 years old. I learned the truth that he would be healed at death. As a tender mercy of the Lord, after Jim's death... twice, I was blessed to see my dear husband "walking" towards me. His face was glowing! His smile so beautiful! It has been a strength to me these past 22+ years, since he "stepped" through the veil!

What a great thing Easter is! I love it and I love this podcast! thank you all! I lost a grandson shortly after he turned 17. This death rocked the whole family. After all the funeral arrangements were made, I went, or rather I fled, to the temple. There, I received complete peace and understanding in contrast to those members of my family who could not enter the temple. And two years later, this peace has sustained me when my husband died, and some beloved pets who also died. The 10th anniversary of my husband's death is coming up in a couple of months. I still miss him and look forward to the day when we can be together again and that peace is still with me. What an immeasurable blessing the restored gospel and Church is to us all!!

It is also beautiful to think that one day we will be talking with our loved ones, remembering the time when we relied on hope.

From NYC, I love this podcast, every week. But Sister Aburto’s description of councils with Special Witnesses was wonderful, as was her suggestion that we bring our comments and thoughts, and then let them go, since it’s the Lord’s will we’re seeking in church councils…not ours. Grateful for Follow Him.

As I'm listening this morning, we are looking forward to picking up our son at the airport tonight--returning from his mission in South Korea! The testimony that his older brothers who passed a few years ago have been with him, helping him, touched me. Tears, sad and happy, every week when I listen. Thank you for what you do.

My parents have both pass to the spirit world now. My grief is swallowed up knowing that they are busy, together ministering to souls who are coming to know the great eternal plan of our Heavenly Father and I will see them again. It is not just a comfort but a joy to have this knowledge.❤❤ Lovely to have Sister Aburto as a guest today 😊😊

I love watching the "line upon line" progression of Jesus' miracles. You can track His learning and "skill" building. He starts with healing, progresses to raising from the dead after only a few minutes, then, the raising of Lazarus on the 4th day. Finally, He has practiced the skill often enough to raise Himself from the dead.

Wow what an amazing episode. As I listened to stories about the loved ones that were lost and how Grateful they are knowing that they will be reunited. This brought a great memory to about my brother which moved on to the other side of the vail. I had come back to my Savior's church just a year before. When I got the news that I had lost my brother, we were so close. We were adopted at the same time. The first thought that came to my mind was that, I am going to do his temple work. I love how our Savior Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father guide us where we need to be. I know that our Savior is our Redeemer.

This is so fabulous, Sis Aburto is so great! I am sorry for your loss brother Smith. My parents both just passed away recently and I keep thinking about our last tender moments together. One of the last things Mom said to me was, "I am so glad I get to live with you for forever!"

I am totally blown away with the remarkable spirit of Sister Aburto. Im abashed with her mental agility her quick response and commentary hearing you brethren speaking and her immediate response in her wonderful accented English. Her grasp of the influence of the Spirit and her inspired responses are thrilling, speaking with power. I loved her experiences in the committee meetings and grasp of her assignment. Thanks for having this wonderful sister’s contribution to Easter and the resurrection.🙏

I met John Bytheway in December of 1999. At the time, I didn't know he had an older brother named David. For some reason, he didn't do his impersonation of Barney Fife during his talk, even though it wasn't a Sunday. Even to this day, nobody does a better impression of Barney Fife than John Bytheway.

One more comment.. 😬. This is more a side note, actually. There was some discussion of "not being with our loved ones" now. However, i do think it is significant that one of the roles of the Aaronic priesthood is the ministering of angels. Yes, part of that is being the hands of angels on earth to bless others, but i also believe it brings our deceased loved ones closer to us on a regular basis. They are with us and watching over us.

Thanks for this special Easter lesson! Amazing!!! It has helped me so much!❤❤❤. Sorry for the loss of your mom Hank! I miss my parents every day and still dream about them and think about them! If I didn’t have the hope in Christ that I’ll see them again I don’t know what I’d do!

That was one of my favorite songs on the Seminary video CDs (in the 90s, I'm sure they're different now)..."One By One." If I'm not mistaken it was the Tab Choir that sang it. Beautiful song. It just gave me a different feeling. Good times. ❤

Question: listening to Sister Alburto explain how in the endowment, the Plan of Salvation is presented again , caused me to wonder if by willingly participating in the endowment is in effect choosing Our Father's plan of Salvation again, like we did in the premortal life? If so when we participate in any ordinance, are we choosing His plan? Or any time we deliberately repent or receive Christ's grace in overcoming the natural man/woman - we are choosing His plan. Controversially... when we don't, we are choosing Satan's plan... Am I over thinking 🤔

I like that thought! I think in reality, we get to say "yes" to the Father every day, every choice! So yes, when we participate in the endowment, but I think also in the sacrament, and every other ordinance we participate in; as well as every time we pray, read our scriptures, and keep every other commandment given to us!! Saying yes to God's plan was not just a one time thing but something we keep doing over and over again!!

Today...the day before Easter Sunday my wife suggested we go to perform Temple service for our loved ones. While there I realized that the Saturday after Christ's crucificton, He made it possible for those in the world of Spirits to have the gospel preached and saving ordinances done. I'm trying to be like Jesus...grateful my wife is leading the way!

I appreciated learning from Sister Aburto, but had a hard time during the second half of part 1 when the conversation went to mourning the loss of parents and yearning to see and be with them again. For those of us who had difficult and pain-filled relationships with a parent, it was sobering, and sad, to know that we're NOT looking forward to seeing them in the spirit world. We did not feel love and acceptance from them in this life and their passing only brought the lifting of a heavy burden and a sense of relief and freedom. So sad, but true none the less. I've been trying to forgive for many years, but it is so hard! Just wanted to put my two-cents-worth in and point out that not everyone misses a parent

An additional thought for the Saturday discussion, in addition to mourning and sorrow, is the vision of the spirit world described by President Joseph F Smith. The righteous spirits of the righteous had been assembled somehow awaiting the advent of the Son of God into the spirit world. They had a different view of circumstances, and as the Savior went through His eternal atoning sacrifice, these souls were filled with joy and gladness and were rejoicing together because the day of their deliverance as at hand.
