Navy veteran stunned, can't speak when surprised with vehicle from a Secret Santa

The EastIdahoNews.com team is busy helping a local man gift $500,000 this holiday season! Secret Santa is a real person who wants to remain anonymous and wants to help as many people as he can.
We will be surprising deserving people and families every day from now until Christmas with gifts unique to their circumstances.
Darold Young is one of the humblest people that you will ever meet. He is a Navy veteran and has always been extremely giving. He never hesitates to give to those that need help, never asks for anything in return and he understands the true meaning of unconditional love.
For the past several years, Darold has been tending to his wife. She is unable to take care of herself due to medical conditions. He also takes care of his 91-year-old mother who resides alone in her own home in another town. Darold travels from Springfield into Blackfoot for a few hours several times a week leaving his wife with a caretaker so that he can also tend to the needs of his mother. He has been trying to take care of both properties and both women while rarely asking for assistance.
Several years ago Darold underwent extensive surgery and a month-long stay at the veteran's hospital in Salt Lake City. He is now facing another surgery in February due to embolisms that have been detected in his other leg. His best friend, who would assist with transportation to and from the VA, passed away unexpectedly in October and his death has left quite a hole in our father's heart.
Darold is having difficulty keeping a reliable vehicle that is easy for him, his wife and his mother. They depend on him to transport them to and from their doctors’ appointments. He also needs a working car to get to doctor appointments at the veteran's hospital.
Secret Santa was touched by Darold's story and asked the East Idaho News elves to deliver him a special Christmas gift. Watch the video above to see what happened!

What I love most about the recipients of Secret Santa gifts is that they are working hard on doing their best no matter what the circumstances. In every segment, the person is surprised that they would be recognized and dumbfounded that someone would notice their troubles. None of them have a Go Fund Me page to get support and they’re not asking for handouts no matter how desperate they are. Imagine his stress from driving a junker clunker taking his wife or mother to medical appointments. Probably in the rain and snow and freezing temps and just praying the entire time that they could get from point a to b and back home without breaking down. At a time when so many people feel entitled even though they aren’t doing anything themselves to improve their situation, seeing these ordinary, hard working individuals be helped is... life changing for them. God bless Secret Santa for making a difference to deserving folks!

Stories where parents and/or siblings are being caregivers just bothers me to no end, I live where the government gives money to people with significant disabilities just so they be an employer and hire their own caregivers. I'm glad that in the US there is at least a few people who try and smoothen the burden for families a bit.

Daniel Beauchamp he didn’t know what to really say getting gifts which makes it so much more special being a surprise and when he did get gifts this time he got amazing ones!! And the irony is he got gifts to continue to be able to help everyone in his life.

That's what I was thinking. He always gives that extra $1,000 cashier's check to cover the costs of registration too. I'm thinking that might be a way around having to claim income. Claiming gifts is ridiculous in my opinion.

Not just him being a veteran but him clearly being a kind, caring and loving son, husband, father, probably grandfather and I'm very sure friend to many. His instant tears showed how appreciative he was for such an awesome gift. I had to laugh when he said "I step on the gas and the guy behind me has trouble seeing"... Bless his heart!

This one really struck home, reminded me of my grandpa who’s a vet with dementia that lost his wife at 73. He’s one of the strongest men I know. It makes me very happy to see how this man is treated, not only by secret Santa but the people around him. Much love

It's a common thing in the Navy. A lot of people in the Navy wear their covers (uniform hats) tilted as it's been a tradition for a long time. That is my guess as to why he wears his hat tilted.

An old friend of mine used to check & top up his oil every single time he left his house in the morning. I’ve yet to start driving (33 & disabled.. that’s changing next year I hope), but it’s so embedded in my brain I’ll be sure to do the same every time I go out. My grandpa is like this, even looks very similar, hat and all, poor man should have been retired ten years ago, but him and my grandma are still feeding and housing their two grown sons, one is a painkiller addict, and the other is an alcoholic, none of the other siblings can convince them to kick those losers out, they are just too kind hearted.

This secret Santa has made me have faith in humanity again this Christmas . Even tho I struggle it is great to see these things happen in our world today :)
