Thanks for all the feedback and support guys. It is very much appreciated. If you haven't done so already hit that subscribe button and we'll keep you up to date with everything that's going on around the shop here.

I bought a 9-16 with a box wedge for just this reason. 90% of my wood is this size and I run it all through the box wedge by myself. It’s super fast and easy compared to my old box store splitter. The only thing you have to watch out for is the return arm. If the piece of wood is over 32 or so inches round you can bend the return arm like I did. It’s an awesome setup.
@EastonmadeWoodSplitters

Thanks for the feedback. I think I'm going to do a video on that just so guys are aware of it. Once I get down that far I will normally roll the round onto its edge.

Can you tell me how it bent the return arm? Just curious.
@wvwoodman9280
@wvwoodman9280 2 жыл бұрын
@@jeremygibbs6939 Yes. When pushing a large round, there is a piece of angle on the pull back arm to help support it. Those large rounds hit that angle iron when pushing blocks through. It bends the arm back over time. Any rounds over 32 inches or so you have to be careful with. I had to weld in some extra gussets for extra support.

What kind of lead time for a 12-22? I have a few points to get in line like a dump trailer, splitting location and a load of logs. @@S_man89 you would have ask Andrew that, as far they are out on build time and delivery but as far as is it being profitable yes but a lot does go into it. Lots of things can make it not profitable fast. Getting a Eastonmade 12-22 and a conveyor is a great investment in a firewood business but make sure you have a good demand and a better supply for that demand.
@S_man89
@S_man89 3 жыл бұрын
MJM Tree Service & Maintenance thanks. I figured I wouldn’t get the conveyor until I had the orders coming in where I needed the autoloading. We have a lot folks out here by me that burn wood for heat and pleasure. Bu most of the guys I see that sell it I don’t see a lot of them delivering it, it’s usually come and get it kind of thing. We also have a few koa camp grounds that I would reach out to and try and get a fire wood contract. Plus at my current employment I could inquire about selling from our store ( we sell building material) so we get a good selection of possible buyers guys for heat and the weekend folks for pleasure. During the summer our town is a tourist place so there are a lot of vacationers at their lake homes so I would like to offer something to compete with the “bundle of warmth most places sell” which in my opinion not very good wood. But thanks for listening to me. I love doing this kind of thing bucking rounds and splitting. 😁
