Easy 3d dimensions in Rhino

Useful custom macros for 3d dimensions aligned to flat surfaces:
! _CPlane _Object _Multipause _DimAligned _CPlane _Undo
or
! _CPlane _Object _Multipause _Dim _CPlane _Undo
Note: The bug in "! _Line _Normal" shown at the 2:50 minute is rare, but quite annoying when it happens, because it will use some of the nearby surfaces as a target rather than the initially picked surface.
I can recommend the following solution: Turn on the "IgnoreTrims=Yes" option, then the line is always normal to the initially picked surface.
This way, you won't be forced to preliminary extract a copy of the target surface or hold Ctrl+Shift for sub-object selection.

You can sue the following plug-in for Rhino 6: "Global Edge Continuity (Release Candidate 3) (by Gijs)" located here: www.food4rhino.com/en/app/global-edge-continuity-release-candidate-3 Rhino 7 has its own "Edge continuity" tool, but it has no alternative in Rhino 6. The VSR plug-in for Rhino 5 had its own tool for that, as well.

Hi, 3-sided holes could be filled in several ways, depending on the general shape of the nearby surfaces, as well as whether you aim for tancency or curvature matching. You may try "Sweep 2 rails", "Network surface", "Blend surface", "Patch", "Edge surface", followed by "Match surface" and experiment with various setting in the latter. Another approach is to trim one of the adjacent surfaces so that you create a 4-sided hole, which is mush easier to fill with the main surfacing tools I mentioned above. Hopefully this helps. @@AutomotiveCNC For example, there is a triangular space, like I cut one side by 2 and make 4 sides?

@@hunterofrhino , it will work better if you trim a portion of the surface to make a V-shape to it. The idea is to give Rhino the ability to build a new surface across 4 sides.
