What can you do with 6 root notes covering 4 frets? I'll explore different picking techniques and chord shapes . Guitar is tuned to Eb standard so plug in and let's Riff Out together .

@@DUNN.. Yeah I’d say some lead guitar ideas would be great too or at least some more technical ideas, like you could give some sweeping ideas, legato ideas, or even just fast alternate picking licks for a solo, I know sweeping with taps on it would be a good one too! For me I have to work on all of those more and especially just when it comes to really fast shred parts trying to get my hands in sync and getting a consistent take every time is a bit of a pain, I’m new to soloing so I’m trying to improve my soloing skills in all aspects especially just having a good feel for the solo so trying to find a good balance between shredding stuff and more melodic ideas without it being all 16th notes haha

I'm back Last time I said it was similar to a byzantine scale shape, also called double harmonic minor scale,and it does. Those 6 notes are in one shape of A# (if you are in standard D) or C (in Standard E). It's the third shape (octave on first fret 2nd string and third fret 5th string). Byzantine scale is very fun and particular. It has oriental-mysterious vibes and it is used by a lot of metalheads. Its peculiarity is that the shapes are mirrored, as you have a mirror between 3 and 4 string. The shape he is using includes 0s and it goes: E 0-1-3-4 A 2-3-4 D 2-3 G 0-1-4 ( or 0-1) B 1-2 (or 0-1-2) e 0-1-3-4 If you folloy the (...) you will get its mirrored form. As other scales you have 5 important shapes but also you have other additional shapes to connect those 5, also variations with 3 or 4 notes/strings. Byzantine scale has about 25ca possible shapes. Another variation of Byzantine scale is used a lot in Gypsy music and it's called Hungarian scale. Hungarian scale I very difficult because you have to stretch your hand a lot skipping 2 frets(1-4) but not painful as Hirajoshi scale (you have to skip 3 frets 1-5 a lot)
@DUNN..
@DUNN.. 9 ай бұрын
Thank you so much for your detailed response , I’m definitely going to look into this scale more. It’s amazing how I have gravitated towards it with no theory training. Once thank you for your time and effort in sharing your knowledge greatly appreciated 🤘🔥🤘

@@DUNN.. Don't worry, I think we are all here to learn from each other: I give you a fun scale, you give me some patterns to play on guitar. Next time you will teach a cool riff to your community and someone else will teach you a fun technique. I think that's great, a community based around sharing knowledge and art in which everyone learn something new. Also I see your last video, the riff was hot as hell, especially the fingering part after power chords. What guitar have you used? It looks like a Dean, that black satin colour is awesome, I have the same on my jackson 7 string dinky, my top 1 favourite guitar, awesome quality for that price. The only downside of satin black is it get easily dirty, sweat stains, dust ecc. Do you like 7 strings guitar?
@DUNN..
@DUNN.. 9 ай бұрын
@scolapastajoeilpittore2974 yes it’s a Dean ML from 2006 . I definitely like 7 strings I made a 7 string tab lesson recently on my Ibanez universe 7 string and will be releasing more 7 string videos.
@scolapastajoeilpittore2974
@scolapastajoeilpittore2974 9 ай бұрын
@@DUNN.. that's awesome to hear! I definitely will look for that tab video and next ones. I have some difficulties in using the 7 string couse it has a so damn low sound so fast tempo riffs sound a little bit muddy, I enjoy hearing all notes clearly, but it's awesome for intros and breakdowns, like some hard Doom/Stoner stuff and some low fast palm muted chugs. In fact I don't enjoy much a tendency of modern metal in getting very very low sound, 9+ strings tuned 2 steps down. Man if you want to be that low just take a bass. I notice some of these bands are just investing in lowering the sound rather than technique or brilliant riff writing. Maybe is just my ear that is not used for that fast tempos 7 string sounds. I've got my Jackson tuned in drop G# with earnie ball 10-62 gauge. I think are the best for death metal cause they have the right tension and it's awesome for tremolo picking. You can play in standard A as you are playing in standard B with regular strings.

@@FiendlingBM I’ve got the an E2 Arrow from a finish perspective being super picky maybe the E2 is a little neater . The E2 has recessed volume knob and battery box and the LTD you have a screw on cover. Playability no difference , the LTD came out of the box setup perfectly I’d definitely buy another one without hesitation 🤘🔥🤘

@@DUNN.. yeah, there are also called "Hungarian scales", are often used in gypsy music in Balcans. They are very similar to Phrygian scales. There are about 20+ byzantine scales (including variations). Check them out, I use them a lot and sound very death/black metal.

@@DUNN.. how would you use Hirajoshi scales in a death metal riff? I like them a lot, I love Japanese music but their sound make them hard to use in death.
@DUNN..
@DUNN.. Жыл бұрын
@@scolapastajoeilpittore2974 that would be tricky, maybe the picking technique could make it heavier but it’s melodic content will always remain.
@scolapastajoeilpittore2974
@scolapastajoeilpittore2974 Жыл бұрын
@@DUNN.. Yeah that's true. They will be great in a lick or a solo, you can give a Japanese atmosphere with no effort, but they are very difficult to use in death metal because we are not use of their type of melody in death. It's very difficult to make them work with death metal rhythms. They would sound great for some epic/power stuff, metalcore.

Hello you there Dion Tillman here, let me just say no way you people I have no effects no strings of my choice, just what ever the guitar comes with, and I don't have my own home, I live in a facility so I don't practice as much as I want, and on and on, I'm self taught and I use my own tunings, you people think what I do is easy because I'm doing it,and by the way, I'm just getting started I got a million tunes I made up my self, none of them sound the same, you people reward bad behavior, and you label me black,because you can't control me, I'm immortal, like it or not,
