Easy Accent Wall | Geometric Painting | DIY

Painters tape (we used 1.88 inch thickness)
4 inch rollers, a brush for cutting in
Paint
The colors we used were all by Glidden. We used Thin Ice as the base, and Flagstone, Dover Gray, and Knights Armor as the accent colors. Depending on the size of your wall the amount of paint you need will vary. We wanted to play it safe so we got a quart of each of the accent colors and a gallon of the base color (there was about half leftover). We chose the flat finish because it tends to be the least streaky.

I did my wall as well, but the lines are not straight when I pulled the tape off…. What did I do wrong? How can I fix it?

Aww you two are adorable! My guy and I painted/taped our lines 3 days ago (black shapes, gold lines) and will now be removing the painters tape. Part of me is worried that it will flake off as we take the tape off? Any other advice on the tape removal aspect of the project?

Thanks! I have found that it is best if you take off the tape at an angle and slowly if that makes sense

Also do you remove the tape while the paint is still wet?

We waited for it to dry, but I’m sure you could do either one. Just do it slowly :)

Do you have to use a base paint like my wall is white can I just go straight to taping the shapes I want and painting with the accent colors?
