We made a Goblin clan in Baldur's Gate 3 (PC) and so can you! Here's how to install the Baldur's Gate 3 Mod Manager, the necessary Script Extender, add a ton of new spells and player races, and install the Party Limit Begone mod that can increase the party cap to 16! Feel free to use this as a guide to embark on your own goblin adventure, or install EVEN MORE MODS that use the .pak format from Nexus.

Modders on Nexus suffer still from a perpetual inability to explain their mods and installation processes for the layman. A shame, since many people are getting into RPGs through this game. Hopefully this kind of stuffy elitism in the community will end. YOUR video, however, is not an example. Thank you for providing a clear and concise explanation!

I get your frustration, but remember this modders are just people like you and me who made something awesome and are sharing it for free. Writing a guide is very boring work. Remember you didn't pay for a thing, and they are being nice for sharing their work. Show some respect.

I know you probably wont read this but thanks to you I did it. Im terrible with cpu's but with your tutorial I managed to do it. I kept thinking in my head as it loaded that it was not gonna work and i messed something up but when i got to customization with the mods i loaded it actually worked and my heart started aching because all the stress I was feeling was fading. THANK YOU SO MUCH! SUBBED!

Here's something fun. If you manually install the script extender, confuse yourself, then install it automatically using the Mod Manager, you will get two notices of it on the title screen.

@@2HeadedHero hey can i ask a question? My game updated to the latest version with over 100h of gameplay and now it crashes while in combat. I read that i need to update the script extender, but the creator said it will be a while before they update it. Do i have any other option but waiting? I thought about downpatching, but that's a beast in itself. Any other suggestions? Any help is appreciated. I'm afraid to lose or corrupt the 100+h save game...

Het, my 5eSpells mod in the mod manager shows a red mark, what do i do?

I am facing the problem that some Mods won't be imnported, allthough they are listed as active. On some i get this yellow message "No Mods imported. Does the file contain a .pak?" What does that mean? Are those Mods no longer working with patch5 ?

Hoping this is what I need to get some basic mods. Of course, if I’m not doing the same mods you are, it’ll have a different load order… not sure how one discovers what the correct load order is for the stuff they want to use, but I’ll… just read the descriptions and comments on all the mods, lol. Honestly, kind of forgot modding was a thing and I haven't even taken into account modding this game. I dont know how they pulled this game off but my god it truly has endless replayablilty.

I've been at this for 2 hours and your vid is the only one that goes step by step which is nice. The problem is that despite me following it along and having the exact same load order and script extender and yada yada it won't show the added races when I hit new game. Just the base ones. No idea why.

@@Armorkitty14 It turns out that the 'Fantastic Multiverse' file doesn't have the old races anymore. It's just an empty dummy file for people who had saves from the old version. Soooooo no kobold or goblin till they make a new individual file for them. And since they've said they're doing all the human races first...yeeeah I'd just give up on it

does the "Vortex" mod loader work as well or does it have to be the "Baldur's Gate Mod Loader" like you're using here (just wondering if that has been tested cause it's nexus's own mod loader thing so I kinda wanna use it and not have to download a different loader for every other game) eitherway thank you for the video!

If it's not to late, it's horrible, it switches around files in your root folder and disables some things required to turn on the game, and lslib is a pain in the ass to install correctly

4:40 When I click browse local files, it doesn't look like this; it is just the icon for the BG3 game, and if I click on it, it just opens the game. I tried pressing "show package contents," and that brought me to a folder called contents, and there is a folder called Data in there, but I don't think it's the same thing as your data folder, and I can't find the bin folder I was looking for. I'm playing on Mac, so I guess that could be the problem, but idk.

Can you add collections to this mod manager? Vortex is soooo shit when you got 1000+ mods, it freezes all the time so i wanted to use another one... But can i just import a collection from nexus mod like i do on vortex?

Please someone help! I did some deplyoing and arraning with vortex and bg3 modmanager to get the used mods to work properly. I also have the bg3 scriptextender. Here's the issue: When I start the game and want to load a save game, it says there are 3 mods that where enabled but now are disabled. I checked them, redownloaded them, deployed, arranged etc, but it is still saying, that they are disabld. Is it maybe because I'm running them on vortex and the modmanager? I already want to thank you for responding! Edit: And what can I do in the modmanager, when it says, that a file overrides another?

You have to download all the races separately and drag them into the mod loader to get them!

When I run the BG3ModManager .exe it opens a file folder, at the top it says "Set the path to the Baldur's Gate 3 root installation folder" (clueless) if I close this window the app runs and presents me with a Preferences screen (clueless) I close it. At the bottom of the manager app it says "Game Data folder is not valid. Please set it in the preferences window and refresh" again (clueless) I'm so confused, nothing is even remotely similer to what is shown in your video. Can you help?

I installed the DWrite.dll file from the script extender into the bin folder just like the video shows but the BG3modmanager still says its missing. I dont know what im doing wrong.

For anyone seeing "Requires Script Extender v5 or Higher" just run the game and give it a chance to rub the sand out of it's eyes. Should be gone when you reopen the MM.

My advice for this would be to delete all mod files and folders and start over- installation order matters. I'd make sure the SE is dropped into the proper folder as well, per the video it has to go in a different location than the rest of your mods

So some of the races you saw are no longer available atm, until the author makes more files for them. However the ones that are available need to be downloaded one at a time and can be found under the core download.

I recently just start modding but it seemed like it disable my steam achievement and if I take them out I can't load my game anymore is there a way to fix this unfortunately my game is also up-to-date

The game relies on the mods for the save so getting rid of them is a good way to mess with you save file. And yes modding gets rid of your steam achievements but I think there is a mod to turn them back on ironically enough.

Hey was wondering if anyone could help me out, I installed the script extender into the bin folder using the instructions outlined at 4:19, however when i boot the baulder's gate 3 mod manager, there is a red exclamation point next to the 5e spells mod (the mod that needed the script extender) saying that no script extender can be located. I feel like I'm missing something super simple but I am pretty new to modding and would love some troubleshoot ideas. Thank you!

I had the same issue, if you haven't figured it out. After you move DWrite.dll file to, steamapps\common\Baldurs Gate 3\bin, all you gotta do is start the game and close out and then refresh the manager and it should work.

Some Mods need the Script Extender V1 or higher, but I installed the latest version. When launch the game it says, that the file coulnd't be found. Can someone please help?

You just need to start the game and close it and the manager should be able to recognize the script extender.

I lost access to my main character due to mods becoming outdated, so I swapped from Party Limit Begone to Party Limit Begone Legacy ver. and now my game crashes if I attempt to use that character. Be warned people.

you need to download the races individually till the author releases 2.0. you can find them below the core download.

So the fantastical multiverse has had an update and right now just the main download doesn't provide the all the races. they need to be individually installed and on the nexus website the author has made a note that there a re a lot of them that aren't available right now. I know that vague so If you have any questions feel free to ask.

I downloaded tav head mod but it glitches the game, when i new game, im in a galaxy, every body type of tav is naked and cant interact 💀 same as the other mod

I don’t know how to extract files into a zip or anything. I just want to play as a goblin. Please make a video for this mod again and SHOW every step and don’t skip with a “I already have a folder open with all my stuff in here :)” make it easier for dumb people like me who grew up playing on consoles only.

HELP: Script extender is no longer downloaded as "DWrite.dll" and is now "BG3Updater.dll" instead. Following the video's actions BG3 Mod Manager does not recognize the script extender once placed in the bin. A red circle with a ! is displayed next to 5eSpells in Bg3 Mod Manager. An error pops up saying "Mods Require the Script Extender - Install it with the Tools menu!" I went ahead and installed it from the tools menu but then recieve this error "Error occurred when installing the extender updater DWrite.dill - Check the log". I'm guessing this is happening since the script extender is not labeled the same anymore which is causing the confusion with the mod manager. So THEN I check the log and what does it say? "[MainWindowViewModel.cs:OnMainProgressComplete(3020)] Main progress is complete. [MainWindowViewModel.cs:ShowAlert(4348)] Error occurred when installing the Extender updater DWrite.dll - Check the log" THE SAME ISH. I am seriously so tired of being the only one on the internet sometimes trying to troubleshoot issues like these. Hopefully someone else has the same issue as me and I'm not alone.
