I wish I could "copy/paste" a smell into this reply, because at the moment, my house smells wonderful with the crisp almost ready to come out of the oven. I did raspberries instead of blueberries because they are ripe here now, but I anticipate it will be delightful! Thanks as always for sharing your knowledge & kindness!

This just brought back a childhood memory of a blueberry tart I absolutely loved getting from the tiny farm stand down the road back in my hometown. It was a small town in the northeast, and a lot of the year was cold, so it was special when they opened each spring. It was such a treat when my mom stopped there on the way back from my dance lessons and she would buy me one of those tarts. Thanks for sharing! I might make this and see if I can bring more of that nostalgia back to life.

This has been my favorite dessert since I was a kid, so about 60 years! My mom used single varieties of different frozen berries, I use Trader Joe's frozen Fancy Mixed Berries, which is black, rasp, and blueberries (NO strawberries, for some reason, they don't work). I don't use oatmeal, by my sister does, and I also omit the almonds, but I do use individual ramekins and sprinkle the topping evenly among the ramekins! SO good and because I use frozen berries, I always have a quick dessert ready to go!

Oh yum! Here in Maine, wild blueberries will be ready for harvest just about the time we go to camp for our vacation. This will DEFINITELY be on the menu.

Will definitely be making this crisp this week! Just a suggestion...... When I make my blueberry jam I add vanilla to it. It wakes up all the flavors of blueberry and lemon 😍

In the UK we call thins a crumble and we rub the butter in rather than melting, I doubt it makes much difference in the end . Lovely

We would call this a Crumble in the Uk. Although we’d rub the butter into the flour and sugar. Would normally be apple or rhubarb and often served with custard. Never thought of doing blubbery so will give that a go!

Looks so good! As a variation, sometimes I like to make a blueberry crisp pie, which is essentially a blueberry pie with crisp topping. I do bake the filling before putting the topping on though. It's delicious - best of both worlds, pie and crisp!

This is absolutely delicious! I've made it several times and I like to try different things with the recipe. Last time I made it I used a frozen berry blend and doubled up on the crumb topping, it came out extra scrumptious.

Thanks for the dessert John! I reduced the filling by 6, the crisp topping by 4, and baked for 30 min. It made just enough to put into two little ramekins for me and the fiancé! We both loved it, turned out great.

This recipe looked so good that I decided to go ahead and make it despite being in the mist of a kitchen renovation! So I’m doing everything in my basement! And no it is not a finished basement. It’s a good old-fashioned basement with spiders and all sorts of things. It turned out utterly fantastic,and it was a great treat for my husband, who is doing such a fine job with our kitchen.
