Excellent as always. Thanks Billy. One small recommendation (a lot of people are "guilty" of this); once you've finished the tutorial example, it would be great if you could show the whole clip, completed. The final result in full I mean. Ideally this should be the last part of all tutorial videos, before moving onto your closing talk...

Really good video Billy, I like doing masking effects in my videos. A time-saving tip for masking: if your mask is moving in constant direction with constant speed, I like to keyframe the mask position at the start frame, then jump to the last frame and re-position it again. DR will automatically animate the mask between the positions and then you can just fine-tune any points in the middle you need. Happy editing everyone :)

Question is, what if you're the one not moving, but you want the text (or basically anything), to slide out of your hand??

Billy Rybka it may, but it does say PC and I read a Reddit post where someone was trying to see if they had Mac drivers and I believe the final verdict was no.... But if I can return it - worth a try 👍🏼😎

For example, when a car passes in-front of the camera, is there a way I can get the next clip to show up behind it? Essentially using the car as a transition and having it “drag” the next clip behind it. Also this was super helpful and you explained it so easily, thank you

If you want straight lines then you just have to press shift and it will make a straight line. Hope that helps.

really cool, I used something a little different that might be easier in some cases, which goes like this mediain ---> luma keyer --> ' merge2 --->media out text ------'--> merge1 ------> in other words, mediain to luma keyer (inverted) to merge 2 mediain and text to merge 1 and merge 1 goes to merge 2 merge2 goes to media out the lumakeyer can carve out the scene, leaving only the car, the trees, etc, and then you have that sitting on top of your text...in your case the car is white and has good contrast to the rest of the scene, I think. anyways, found that easier on a thing I was working on, so figured I would mention it. Also works really well if you have a lot of different objects (my use case was a forest where there were a ton of trees and I wanted the text to peek through behind the trees, would have taken forever making a mask on that)
