Did the hose thing 5yrs straight on a Lasko labeled version of the Air King 9960. That thing was a beast. Would love to use hose on my U15617, but I doubt it would survive. Performs almost as well as my old 9960, but its build quality isn't even close.

I have this exact fan and used your instructions to take apart, clean and put back together. Here is my problem/issue.... Once I put the fan back together everything was working fine. However, something is not right, I have done something incorrectly. Once I turn on the fan the turbine (while spinning) now makes a sound as if something could be loose and I can not figure it out. I wondered if you could help me with figuring out what is causing the sound as though something were loose.

I own two Lasko U15720 model fans, with several security screws. Makes one wonder if they did this to prevent the average person from being able to open it up in order to clean the internal components of their fans--these fans don't cool as well when the blower wheel is covered with dust and gunk--perhaps so owners are forced to buy a new one. Earlier this week someone gave me another one of these fans because it has a broken blower wheel. Thanks to this video, I now know how to fix it and will soon have three of these fans to cool off my home.

Hello friend. It might be hair in the shaft or hair in the intake grid. If it is hair preventing the shaft from spinning, the next sign is that the bearings will screech and some months later the motor will burn and die. Please Do clean it...

So, would you recommend this model? I've had various different Lasko utility fans over the years, and what I've noticed is that most of them are designed to be impossible to adequately disassemble. I've only had one that you could completely take apart and clean, and I can't find that model anywhere these days. That's what drew me to your video, that you had one that was able to be taken apart for a good cleaning. They get so gunked up with pet hair and dust after continued use that I consider it a "must have" feature to be able to take them apart for cleaning. But how's the noise level? Is it good and powerful without being too noisy?
@spartan.HOCOPOG_0011
@spartan.HOCOPOG_0011 2 жыл бұрын
Hello my friend, this utilities fan are kind of noisy. The little red one, the x-blower, that I clean in my other video, has less power and does a little less noise. However, I would stick to the black/gray fan 'cus of its power, performance and better dust protection in the speed control & brain of the fan. But it's up to you. Good luck buddy.

@@spartan.HOCOPOG_0011 I don't understand, but I did eventually get it open and find that the turbine housing was cracked straight across the entire surface, however I also figured out that, if you tighten everything up extremely, extremely tight, including all chassis screws, the housing does not appear to be further compromised by stress loading and does not critically fail or appear likely to do so, given the overall strength of the housing unit as a whole. I'll update later if it fails. Right now it is running like new.

Since purchasing it, kzfaq.infoUgkxQuBMI30VhO6fDed6NOsYftsoNa8x0UZ5 this fan is a trustworthy companion during the hot nights in Texas for me. The sleep mode is really quiet and gives you smooth wind to cool down. At full speed the fan is quite noisy but also very strong.Only weird thing is that if there is a draught from another fan, the sleep mode would speed up occasionally (getting a bit louder, probably to level 2 out of 4). This never happened so far when I used only this fan though.

@@robg259 The capacitor has 2 wires...maybe you can find the terminals to which they must connect. On the other hand, it happened to me, that I disconnected the speed control in the Xblower some months ago, and I helped a follower saying this; You should see a small black square (speed control on the inside). Standing in front of it you should plug them as follows: BOTTOM RIGHT: Pink wire, BOTTOM LEFT: Blue wire, TOP RIGHT: Brown wire, TOP LEFT: Black wire

This can be 2 things; 1) most likely you put the turbine backwards 2) least likely; you accidentally damaged speed control with humidity, a bump, etc or if you dissasembled it, which I recommended not to.

What do you use as a blower?

You can use the inverse function of any ridgid vaccum cleaner (blower) or even the pump of a mattress will give you acceptable cleaning, if you happen to have one .

Do not spray water or any kind of liquid anywhere near that motor or let water even come in contact with it or u will fry it! That's a nice little blower wheel I'm thinking about getting one of these.

Correct. Any kind of Air is good near the motor (even if it is a mattress pump, like in my case), whereas water never is.

Wish I could have watched twice in case I missed something but as it was, could only make it 3 min. That camera movement was head-killing. Great info though.
