i am an old man living alone. It is Christmas Eve. I bought a bit of pork loin roast @ the grocery store today. I am so thankful for the search engine on youtube to bring this video to me. This crock pot pork sounded worth the trouble. I don't consider myself a cook. Cook I must. Thank you for taking the time to teach this lesson. Cheers and Merry Christmas. 🙂

I cooked the recipe a few weeks ago, and we really liked it. I made a slight change; given that I had already dirtied a frying pan, by searing the pork loin in it, I used the minced onions to deglaze the frying pan and cooked them until translucent before adding them to the crockpot. Today we're making this again, but it's my son who's doing the cooking. We added some thinly sliced potatoes, carrots and celery to the onions, to turn it into a complete meal. Easy and delicious!

Sounds wonderful! Great idea to use the onions to deglaze the frying pan, too. Will have to do that next time I make it. Thanks for the comment.

Just made a 4.5 lb loin roast using this recipe. Cooked it about 6.5 hours on low and added some honey into the glaze as well. Pork came out very juicy and tender, not dried out at all. The glaze was the perfect touch to it. Made some extra since I had so much meat and glad I did. Thanks for sharing this!

I like to try anything! Had a pork Loin in the freezer. Low/med in a Iron Skillet. Just below med heat. Seared Perfectly. Checked the internal temp 35/40 mins covered. Temp was 155*. No reason to Roast or any further heat, Perfect! She wanted to slow cook it. I cut the roast in 1 lb pieces prior to searing. Wow. Will be lucky to make the table. 1/2 gone at 2:15. Light Garlic, kitchen Boquet nothing else light salt with 1/4 Cracked pepper for the rub with lt olive oil

It’s so nice that the video was short and precise. My sauerkraut just finished fermenting and I have a garden full of potatoes. I was looking for a good pork loin recipe to compliment my sides. This is the first and last video that I will be watching for a recipe. I have all of the ingredients on hand! Thanks to another commenter I will definitely be looking at what other gems that you have on your channel. I can’t handle long drawn out videos, I’m very impressed. Wife and I made this today for the first time 3 lbs, followed the recipe except doubled the glaze and have to tell you we both tasted it before serving and we looked at each other and we both said "keeper" our sides were roasted potatoes, steamed broccoli topped with zesty Italian dressing. We decided next time we make this we will go with sliders, instead of adding BBQ sauce to the pork we will do this recipe but served on Hawaiian rolls and maybe a topping of Cole slaw see what happens. Thank you!

Hope you enjoy it. I finally got an instant pot. It's actually a Ninja Foodie that does nine different things..from pressure cooking to dehydrating foods. I couldn't wait to get it, and now I feel like it's collecting dust and taking up so much space. Meantime, I still use my crockpot at least once a week. I guess I just need to buckle down and figure out some instant pot recipes that work for me. My neighbor uses hers all the time and she's a really good cook. I need to have her teach me.

Should You Lock the Lid on Slow Cookers While Cooking? Some of Crockpot's Cook & Carry models come with a handy travel-proof locking lid that can snap on to provide a tight seal. "A common mistake is when people think they should lock the latches on the side for effective cooking," says Imelda from the Crockpot Team, who assured us that this applies only to the Cook & Carry Slow Cooker. "Those latches are only designed to carry-out food somewhere to avoid spillage." If there is a locking lid feature on your glass lid, that is only to prevent spills when you're toting the Crockpot to your potluck, not for when you're cooking. "Locking those latches during cooking might build up pressure and might cause the lid to shatter or even cause the Stoneware to break," Imelda explains. While the latches on the Crockpot look a bit like a pressure cooker, it's not intended for that use at all. "Slow cooking doesn't require pressure," says Imelda, adding that the new slow cookers "have a quarter of an inch gap from the lid to the stoneware to give enough space for steam to come out." Now that you know, you'll never make this mistake, and be you'll be ready to whip up food in your cook-and-carry slow cooker and bring it wherever it's needed.

I forgot to ask you also, what brand crockpot you have? I finally received mines from Amszon, but to me it looks like somebody returned it because the box was torn, and patched up with tape, and the lid has a a small scratch, and stoneware has some chips on the top edges, so I plan to return it, and buy another one. The one that I purchase had good ratings. Everybody gave it 5 stars, but I did not appreciate them sending me one that appear to be used. Since you said that you have yours for years now, and you're very happy with it, I would like to buy one like yours.

The longer you let it cook on low, the more tender it gets. You don't need to worry about it drying out. It won't because it's sitting in all those juices. You can also take a spoon and pour some of the liquid on top from time to time as you check on it. Glad you liked the recipe. Hope you try making it again.

I'll be making this tomorrow, but have a question. Your written ingredients in the description area states a 1/2 cup of brown sugar, whereas the video shows 3/4 cup. Which is it?
@marcyinspired1442
@marcyinspired1442 2 жыл бұрын
Go with 3/4 cup of brown sugar. I had no idea I typed it wrong in the description box. The sweetness should still come through with 1/2 cup, but 3/4 is better. Thank you for pointing that out, I'm going to see if I can correct that.

You didn’t need to add any water. I stopped doing that a long time ago because I found that the meat will create plenty of its own juices.

It's not like carnitas, but it's really good. It's got a little more sweetness because of the brown sugar, but I still use the leftovers to make some pretty killer tacos. I'm so happy you found my channel.

Hi Randy. I'll have to shoot a video of how I make those potatoes sometime in the future. Here's the short version: I coat them with olive oil on a baking sheet, sprinkle them with spices and about a Tbsp. of flour, and bake at 425º until golden on the outside. Thanks for checking out my channel and for being a new subscriber!

No, that wasn't a searing pot, but the onion cooks down really well in the crockpot. Browning it first would be great, too.

All the amounts are in the description box beneath the video. If you're on a desktop, you click where it says "show more." If you're watching on a mobile device, it's a little harder to find. Just beneath the video on the upper right hand side, click on the little down arrow that looks like this "v" and that will show you everything in the description box. Hope this helps.

Total failure with the recipe of balsamic vinegar with the pork loin. It didn't fall apart like your, and it was dry. I followed the instructions to the letter. Like I said before it might be the slow cooker. That why I want to know the brand of your slow cooker. I'm returning the one that I brought from Amazon. It's got good ratings, but the seller sent me the cooker in a pathed up box, the lid has a scratch on it, and the stoneware has a chip. It definitely been used, and returned, and now they want to stick it to me.
@marcyinspired1442

Oh no! I'm so sorry to hear that. It has to be a faulty slow cooker because this is the first "failure" I've heard with this recipe. Thankfully, Amazon is pretty good about returns. Hope you get a better crockpot soon.

The way I see it, if I were invited into someone's home, I would never go in and expect them to change their decor or the way they live for me. I truly am sorry that you're offended by my faith, because I try to love all people. But my loyalty is to God first, even if it means no one watches.

@@montedaestrada3563 I am very familiar with that story. Jesus was angry because the Israelites were supposed to bring their sacrifices to the temple with repentant hearts. But, instead, it had been turned into a market and they were conveniently purchasing sacrifices once they got there. The fact they could even exchange foreign currency there, made it that much more convenient. In other words, it was no sacrifice at all. They represented the worst in religiosity. If you check my About info, you'll see that Marcy Inspired is about cooking "with a pinch of faith." I try not to cram it down anyone's throat and only want to be a source of encouragement. Again, my apologies if I offended you.
