Those layer lines are pretty bad.. are these more HD if printed on a resin printer?
@SebMakesStuff
@SebMakesStuff 6 ай бұрын
Layer lines are only a thing due to my printing. If you do them in resin you wouldn't have anything like that. And could probably get a lot better with filament aswell, but this is a new printer and slicer without any tweaking. On basic settings. With a bit of work I'm sure you could make them perfect.

@SebMakesStuff great resource, then. Thank you for the insight! The medieval ruined buildings are screaming Mordheim to me. Also great stuff in there for DnD and other tabletop!
@SebMakesStuff
@SebMakesStuff 6 ай бұрын
Oh yer, you could make an incredible mordheim table with them! I had the exact same thought. I might have to have a go if it some time. I believe the Kickstarter has a few samples that you can get for free and test out the prints for yourself to get a taste of the models on your table

Can I import STL's that I've designed or commissioned?
@SebMakesStuff
@SebMakesStuff 6 ай бұрын
Absolutely, they allow for you to import any of your own files to build into the system to allow you to make.even more custom designs

Have you tried scaling down any of the files? My 10-15mm terrain could use an upgrade (:
@SebMakesStuff

I'll have to test this out. I'll try printing some at different scales when my printer is free and throw a short up showing you the results

It’s cool, but having to buy $100+ sets each new addition is painful unless you’re a mass producer. I wish there was a one time fee and then that’s it.
@SebMakesStuff

Unfortunately it costs a lot to make 3d models. So if we want more options it's always going to cost. But the fun is being able to produce Soo much from each set. Considering how much I've spent of one off 3d models in the past I think it's worth while. Especially if you pic and choose the sets that you can get the most out of for your particular tale top.
@joel6376

$100 + resin/filament for an entire table top (or multiple) seems very reasonable for a one time fee, particularly given the price GW sell single human sized miniatures for. I would be interested if you could export to a model to then add your own additional bits and pieces.
@badwolfforge

@@joel6376 one time absolutely, but it’s buying each set after. I’m too crazy of a DM, I don’t like to reuse scenery so things like Dwarven Forge were in same category of wow that’s a lot for a single set. But the QUALITY looks great and sorry if my opinion deters, I’m going to stay in foam world for a bit longer 💚❤️
@SebMakesStuff
@SebMakesStuff 6 ай бұрын
@joel6376 You can group the peices together however you like in the program, then they can be exported as stls. So you could make any changes you like after the export. Also they allow for you to import other STL files that you can use in the build process in the battlefield builder app directly.
@SebMakesStuff
@SebMakesStuff 6 ай бұрын
@badwolfforge If you want every set then it could definitely add up over time for townbuilder. Currently Battlefield builder has everything in one purchase as they don't have any additional sets yet. But it's definitely something that you would want to space out the purchases to the styles that would give you the most bang for buck. But I also believe you could make so much with any one of the packs that it would make it worth while. But also, you can never go wrong with a foam build, it's always fun making something from scratch and gives you something nobody else has ever had
