I see these wire wreath forms in so many different shapes and sizes all the time when I film my Dollar Tree videos. I’ve wondered about all the ways people can use them. I made a heart one. This is a great idea. I love how it turned out. I’m learning new ideas and skills from you! Your talent is inspiring. I am Happy to be learning together with you.

Question: After you put the initial rag on the 1st ring of the wreath, you didn't show it in the second group. The first one was the only one on the bottom ring; does that make sense of what I'm asking? Also, do you do more on the first ring for the rest of the wreath. I'm a little OCD in this respect. Thank you!

Do you think you could mix fleece and regular material on this wreath? I want to make you and have a bunch of fleece as well as regular fabric scraps. Would love to use them on this wreath. Great video!
@smokymountainmaker4745
@smokymountainmaker4745 2 жыл бұрын
I think mixing materials will not be a problem at all. It’s the amount that you use. More scraps make a fuller and sturdier wreath, especially if it’s in the weather. I have a cotton one outside that I flip every few days. Because of moisture it droops, but I don’t have that problem with inside wreaths. Thanks for watching!

I found found these at Walmart. One thing I’ve realized is that if you really like something it’s best to go ahead and get it if you can. I’ve gone back to our local store and sadly they were sold out😢. You can buy small amounts at most fabric stores such as a fourth yard. I’d try that.

Hi So you did just 5 knot strips in each section or did you do 10 strips ? Did you all so do a pattern in each section, such as b&w strip then a red and black?
@smokymountainmaker4745
@smokymountainmaker4745 4 жыл бұрын
Hi Denise, I used about 6 to 7 strips folded and then knotted per wire. I tried to be really random, but not repetitive, so yes a B&W then a plaid red and black, then another pattern, then maybe red and black, then black and white, then pattern. I also jumped from wire to wire. I didn't put strips on the outside wire so the wreath would lie flat. Hope this answers your questions. Thanks for watching the video!

Hi how are you? I want to try a Philadelphia eagles one I have eagles fabric but what do you recommend for other colors do they need to b designs or can be just like all green or black? Also can this go on the front door, or will condensation mess it up
@smokymountainmaker4745
@smokymountainmaker4745 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Christy! So excited you want to make a wreath! I would suggest the Eagles fabric and green since that is their main color. I think that would look great! If you feel like you wanted to pull in some black, white, or grey ( I think that was the other colors in their logo) you could add a few strips and if you didn't like it you could just remove them. To make them easier to remove don't tighten the knots until you're certain. As far as the condensation, as long as your fabric is washable, I don't think it will hurt it. It may make your strips droop a little if your material is thin, just rotate your wreath and they should straighten back up. You could try spraying with hair spray to hold them stiffer, I would test a sample first to make sure the color didn't bleed. I would also wet a sample of the material to see if the colors run, they shouldn't but you never know. If the green runs, it may be best to go ahead and wash it a time or two, you wouldn't want your green color to get damp and ruin your patterned material. If your wreath will be where it will be rained on you may have more of an issue than just simple condensation. I made one I put on our camper door that got rained on and it didn't do anything but cause the upper strips to droop some. I just fluffed it a little, but that was my experience with it. Also, the sun will eventually cause the material to fade. My biggest concern would be if you put something in the middle of your wreath. Metal and plastic should hold up pretty well with condensation, wood would be so-so depending on how it was prepped and finished. MDF board, pressboard, cardboard, and paper products would not hold up well in damp situations. I hope this answers your questions. Thanks for watching the video and enjoy making your wreath!

If you're referring to the white background, the wreath was placed on a white board for photographing, But, it would be easy to use a plain white canvas (as used in painting) to attach it to before hanging.

Would this work as well with ribbon?
@smokymountainmaker4745
@smokymountainmaker4745 2 жыл бұрын
To work with ribbon it would have to be a something that will stand up on it’s own. Too thin a ribbon will wilt on the upper edges. I believe a wired ribbon would be beautiful. You may have to add more pieces, as with any thinner material, so I would get extra (you could always return any unopened ribbon, but may not be able to acquire more should it sell out). The wreath I made with cotton droops easier than the one I made with flannel. Hopes this helps, I’d love to see your finished wreath.
