A turbo is run off the exhaust, a supercharger is an external way to force more air in the engine

Good try!! They both force compressed air in the combustion chamber. A supercharger uses a pulley in the belt drive to spool. A turbo uses the exhaust pressure to spool. Superchargers are better for quicker power and turbos you can more power out of them. Turbos take more time to spool up also.

@@csb772there's different versions of superchargers. This would be called a rare gas supercharger... Because electric, roots, vortices, and centrifugal also exist. Don't forget about twin skrew.

To see serious power gains or even noticeable gains you would have to rejet the card and possibly add larger diameter exhaust pipe with a maybe an fmf muffler than it would actually work.

You have to adjust the carburater to make it more rich put in a larger jet and u will feel the difference in power for sure runing it like that u will blow your motor right away way to leane like that

Yea since then i've learned more about the use of turbos and blowers, I just did it to have some fun, I am thinking about purchasing a REAL honda Carb and getting larger jets. But the whole point of this channel is that people don't have a lot of money, and how can they have fun without it. Thanks for the comment I appreciate it

Pretty sure mightycarmods did this with a civic and 2 air blowers. They actually ended up with like 30 hp extra or something like that on a dyno. Pretty cool but ghetto af

it’s actually a supercharger technically because it forces air into the engine and a turbo pulls air from it off of the exhaust but still pretty cool

No it’s called forced induction and the turbo is spooled by the exhaust gases which forces air into the intake where as a supercharger is belt driven off of the crank so technically it’s closer to a supercharger only because an external engine is powering it instead of exhaust gases but whatever the age old debate

You have to have it tuned for the increased air flow to get the right fuel and air mixture. Over time this will hurt your engine

Youre wrong sir. This has been done to cars and proven on dynos that it builds psi. When i saw it done an old Chevy Monza V8, they plumbed in like 5 or 6 of them into the intake.

It uses the added air to increase the amount of fuel the atv engine can burn. If he doesn't increase the fuel flow, he will not gain as much as he could. No part of this is efficient, but it should increase the amount of power he gets out of the little quad.

Actually that motor makes up to 21.6 hp on a dyno so he is getting me power from the leaf blower

I wouldn’t say this works on any atv or dirt bike. It won’t work on a 2 cycle engine. It doesn’t have exhaust valves to keep the boost from going out the exhaust so it won’t increase the compression.

Most 4 stroke carb need a vacuum or a restricted air flow to work properly. If you just take off the air box lid most quads. Will run like crap. Also you can tell when he turns the blower up the thing will not run. So save your self the trouble and don’t try this.

Not a turbo, turbo uses exhaust to run, not another gas powered engine lol. More like a super charger, only it doesn't do anything... placebo effect I dare say.
