I love your tutorial. I know what my next project is going to be. I've got some black covered copper wire so I'm thinking of a chain for a guy with maybe a mountain jade stone for the focal. I would love to see a tutorial on clasps too. Thank you for your tutorials. They are very good!!!!!

@@davidsteinfeld9123 David, you’re so welcome! I love also that there’s no soldering involved and yet is still quite sturdy. I’ve been looking into some chainmaille weaves for bracelets etc. and hope to bring some tutorials in the near future. I’ve also been fooling around with a Viking weave but haven’t fallen in love with the process yet. 😅 Thanks for watching and commenting!

Love this! I see you use bare copper. Do you typically put a clear coat on it or just let it age? I’m starting to use copper but don’t know if I should use a clear coat on it. Thank you!

I have done a lot of different things. The ring I have on jn the video on my right hand is just left as is and I like the patina it has. I’ve also used renaissance wax and like that and also something called, the name escapes me, but it’s like permaclear. It comes in a metal can and you dip it. That’s good too. I think it depends on how much you feel like dealing with🤣 The permaclear is a process but the renaissance wax is just a rub-on process. I usually go with that.

If you dud get carried away and make a bunch of individual links, couldn't you just join them by making a new link as you've shown?
@carriefoscatodesign
@carriefoscatodesign 26 күн бұрын
Good question! Yes, you could add a link once, but only once as a foundational link for a new chain. Imagine you’ve picked up one of your completed links that you forgot to connect, you follow the steps and add another link, you cannot then add one of the other completed links because it’s closed up. Once you’ve closed them up it would involve some undoing of your work to get it on. Possible, but too much aggravation 😁😁 I hope that makes sense. I need a video to explain! Happy creating!

@carriefoscatodesign: I see what you're saying. Just make more links but slide them in the little hole and close them up. No need for jump rings that way. You wouldn't have to undo the closed links, just go to step 2 and make a new link, add it to the close link, close it, etc. etc.
