I made this DIY baby play gym for a friend a few weeks ago. How adorable is it? I love that you can pull the DIY baby hanging toys! It's so much fun!

If you don’t have tools at home you can ask Home Depot to cut the wood and make holes! And just assemble it at home.

That's definitely not a 1x4". Looks like a 1x2.5" or something

Awesome! Thanks. What was the size of the hole saw or how big of a hole should I tell Home Depot guys to saw?

I had a 7/8" dowel so I used 1" hole saw. So it depends on the size of the dowel :) Go with the hole saw 1/8" larger than your dowel. Hope it helps! Super excited you'll be making it ;) Tag me on Instagram when you finish :)

Hi! Great project. Just an advice. To avoid the wood being ripped when making the hole, you have to use some sacrificial wood under the board you're drilling into. That will avoid that problem you had with the first hole.

Thank you you for advice! More projects you do, more things you learn😄 I actually learned that trick way after I finished that baby gym. And just made a dining table from red oak last week using this method to avoid wood being ripped☺️ editing the dining table video this week, it should go live on Sunday if you want to see more of “immature woodworking hour”😅

@@IfOnlyApril It's called blow out. even if you drill a small hole with a drill bit, it will do the same thing to varying degrees. You do have an excellent work around with what you did though! A flat block of wood and downward pressure will help like Lucas mentioned.

Hi! Thank you! Half the way, so 1/4". Then I added wood glue and a screw

Legs are attached with ropes so inner legs won't be sliding

She cut the 2x4 in half (lengthwise) to be able to make two baby gyms

I seriously doubt she would rip a 2 x 4 to get two 1 x 4s - she would need a table saw and would end up with one surface of each board requiring major sanding (unless you mean the other direction ... which would give you a 2 x 2). She's using 1 x 2 boards purchased from the lumber store.

also i was very confused about the outer leg not having holes because you showed 4 legs with holes… i did not realize you were making 2.

Hi Logan! I'm so sorry about the music. At some point after I published it I got a copyright for music that I used so I had to change it and I guess the volume didn't adjust. I hope you were still able to understand. I have another video with a baby gym that I made for twins recently. It's the same concept, check it out!

Hi there! I apologize for inconvenience. A year after I published the video it was blocked by KZfaq with a claim for a song that I had on a background. So I had to add a "generic annoying song". I have another video for similar project - for twins. It's the same idea, the only difference is the rod on the top is twice longer. Check it out! I hope this helps
