'Espalier' is a technique which emerged in the 17th Century and was imported from France. Ive always liked the way espaliers look in the garden. Espaliers always give the look of order, discipline and practicality. Equally, I also like the engineering involved in building and growing espaliers.
This year, I have decided to start mms serious foray into espalier gardening. In this video, I'll share how my espalier DIY from start to finish. Here's to more years of me using espaliers to a stunning effect as I build several garden rooms on our property.

I am curious and excited to see that this problematic area is getting groomed to a much better state. Thanks for this new idea. I love espaliers especially when i visit private english gardens

So an idea to consider when planting trees. Instead of staking, I prefer to set a couple heavy rocks on top of rootball after planting. This allows for the tree to sway naturally in the wind so it produces a thicker trunk. Obviously in espalier situation the tying will support tree. Thanks for sharing. It’s a cool space you created
