Today we look at how easy it is to install a Garmin 93sv fish finder on the Big Fish 108. 3 Waters Kayaks did an awesome job in designing the transducer mount on this boat and the front hatch area. These two components make a fish finder install a breeze on this kayak. It couldn't be any simpler!

Great job! I drilled a hole at the top of that mount because I didn't know it would pop like that!

If your wire will fit there's already a side hole drilled on the transducer mount and an opening on the bottom you can run it up through. My issue was my wire fittings wouldn't fit in the openings.

Thanks brother! Now to get those rails on there. I may need to see about ordering the 55inch rails..... The shorter one will work fine but the larger of the two I ordered isn't going to be the right fit..... But never fear, I have a plan for it!

FPV Power pack. Check the link in the description. It's not the cheapest but it's 17.4 aH and 12v....plus waterproof..... It's got a ton of juice and works great!!!! I love it.

I'm thinking of buying either the 103 or 108. Do you have to worry about the transducer hitting the ground if the kayak is sitting on land?

The transducer mount is in the front hatch and goes up and down. When all the way down it can hit. If I am going to beach the 108 I simply raise the transducer up some. I can also put it down only halfway and it works fine as well. I put it all the way down if I am going to use sideview/scan.

Great video. I have one question. This is my first fishfinder and I’m mounting it on the big fish 108 per your video. My question is, does the transducer have to be removed when not in use or does it stay mounted on the boat, whether in the water or at home left on the trailer and covered with a tarp? Thanks very much for the video!

Stay mounted. Juat raise the shaft up so it doesnt hit.

Do you need to loosen an drop your Transducer rail to use depthfinder?

Yes. You have to lower the mount its on.

I do have one question. The Transducer wire, why didn't you feed it up threw the hole in the bottom of the Transducer arm and back out the top side hole? Am I wrong in thinking that is what that was for....think it may protect the wire also being inside the square tube

I was taking this unit and using it with another kayak. It was easier to leave it on the outside. You are correct, you can thread it up through the transducer arm. I would say to use some rubber bushings/grommets on the openings to keep it from rubbing through the wire insulation.

@@asutodd oh well at a stand still....Garmin didn't come with bolts to attach the two Transducer arms together 😞. But thank you for the video, makes everything so much easier now!! Can't wait to get this 108 on the water

I found the transducer can not be raised totally due to the hatch being too low. Also it drags on the ground getting to the water.

Mine can be raised enough not to drag with the hatch closed. Never had an issue.

I'll sit down and do a new overiew of everything. I recently got a new kayak and have been making it tournament ready. I'll be doing vids on it as well. I still have my 108 but it's been on the back burner for a bit.
