You must ground the bl err wire. it needs a signal.

@@wilstv Does it matter which side of the cut wire is grounded? Cut wire Going out from the power supply or cut wire going into it? could it also be my ambient sensor in stead? I have ccfl back lights. A bad ccfl would not short like a bad led.

8 Times Blink - For certain models, a special reset procedure is needed if the Red LED on the front of the TV is blinking 8 times and then repeats.

@@akshatjayswal5601 no it doesn't work. I tried the hard reset where you push the on/off button alongside the volume down button and did it 5 times but it never worked

@@VMC954 It worked for me for one month and had to replace the T-con board eventually. Another workaround is once TV works with hair dryer method don't turn it off, just turn off display from action menu when TV not in use.

you might really need to replace the backlight.

a 4 blink code means either the backlight inverter board is bad or one of the backlights in the LCD panel has failed.

check the diagram.usually it shows which is #1 look.on the board..mostly is close by near the pins.

@@wilstv my diagram shows a 2 above the number 1 near the left side of the connector, does this mean the one to cut is the bottom wire on left?

@@wilstv I believe I understand now after watching your video a few more times are diagram is similar. 1-27 is my bottom row and 2-28 is the top correct?

if theres no flash of light of led if migt be the main board

you can check if you see that wire on your board..but as far as i know all sony have this same configuration.

Turn off the TV and unplug all devices connected to the TV Turn off the TV and disconnect all connected devices. With all devices disconnected, turn on the TV again and check whether the LED blinks. If it does not blink, the issue may be in the connected devices

@Wil's Tv Yeah I think you are correct. I've installed the latest Firmware via USB and now I can see the picture if I shine a flashlight on the screen which tells me the backlight has gone. I've also read somewhere that 1 single faulty led will be picked up by a sensor and shut the whole backlight down instead of just shutting off the faulty led. Do you know if there's a way to bypass that sensor that picks up the fault in the back light ?

it might need a reset.try searching how to reset the model of your tv.

How many blinks does your tv show?

you can try opening it.if it has same wiring. or have a bl_err wire.

Hi I followed what you did, but now bottom left corner of screen is alot dimmer then the rest of tv?

is just a temporary fix. because you have to replace the busted led inside. which is lot of work.

i saw the Bl err wire..just cut that one.and connect a extended wire to the ground screw.

try to find again the bl err wire..if not thats probably it.you can simple connect it again if doesnt work.

Damn tested doesn't work ,TV goes on for a few seconds up to 5 min then turns off giving me 4 blinking red lights

blink error code can have quite a few different causes. Ranging from the T-con board to the panel and few things in between. If you have the original TV remote than try to see if this will work on your set: 1. In standby mode, press the following buttons on the Sony remote: DISPLAY....5....VOL(-)....TV POWER 2. On the left side are the blink codes. On the right hand side is the error count. 3. Under 005, you'll see three listings... TCON, HFR, and P-ID (panel). 4. Let us know what errors your set shows. If that does not work on your set, then you will have to remove the back of your TV and check the boards. Try to rule out/in the T-con board as faulty. Disconnect the LVDS cable to the T-CON board, the cable between the Main board and the T-CON board, and see if the error code will change. Let us know what the result is.

Look closely on the board.you will find something like Bl_Err.and its close by the wiring connector with the marking of no.1 for your reference.

It mainly cause by power supply problem.just replace it and it will be good.

I just solder it.the tape it with electrical tape.nothing special about it.very simple.

if you cut the wrong wire.find a xtra wire that you can connect them again.

4 blink code means either the backlight inverter board is bad or one of the backlights in the LCD panel has failed. It can also be the LD board or main logic board, check inverter board wires for arcing to ground

yeah it coz by bad led backlight.unless you want to dis assemble the whole tv glass and buy the replacement it will be good.for now this is kinda easy fix if you dont want to do the whole repair of the tv.

@g a Thanks for your reply. It started getting some two or three vertical lines (no big issue) and after few weeks it started to shut down with the 4 times red light blinking. Sometimes the TV keeps working for a while but most of the time it shuts down itself.

Ernesto M, I am in the same boat as you with the 65-inch version of your TV. I saw another video with the same fix (search big dog) for the previous Sony OLED generation, so there must be a similar fix for the second generation OLEDs. Unfortunately, the PC boards are no longer labeled with the pin out legends. I am slowly working through pulling out each wire to identify the BRR_err??? wire....pita

I've taken my tv to the TV repairs like 3times in 6 months and it keeps doing the same thing its really time and money consuming and the repairers are just not doing there job properly I recon they're just making money off me

Hi.josh.yeah try this fix.is very simple.just find the led err grnd and it might work.

check first the main plug.connect it to different outlet.your house power may not have sufficient voltage.
