Roger, I have done a few of these boards... we call them presentation boards( or cheese boards).... we do a lot of Grandma's soup or cookies recipes like this...because we sell it as they can cut on one side and then present the meat or cheese on the lasered side...I run across the grain @70 % (min and Max), 400 mm ...I also use the generic fill (in lightburn) this gives about 1.5 or 2 mm penetration (I have a 100 watt reci tube like you (agreed power))...I think the only difference is I don't use photo mode and I run 275 to 300 lines per Inch....also Sir I don't sand these boards but a use a window cleaner and let it sit for about 30 seconds and that will remove the smoke ring from around the letters. (Since window cleaner is designed to remove smoke stains from things like car windows etc....best regards.

Why do you place a steel plate on the material prior to focusing the laser? (I realize this is an old video and maybe you mention this and I missed it)

I'm getting more creative watching your videos using my shark hd5 extended with also a laser and water cool spindle. another person also mentioned using glass cleaner to get the smoke off the wood leaving behind only the etchings better than sanding them off. Good tip!

Can you do a video about diode lasers? I really like your videos and I learn a lot from them. If one listens closely to what you are saying you provide a huge amount of information...Its great. I usually watch your videos twice just so I don't miss anything

Great work Roger. I'd buy that :) CNC Burn speed = Slower the better cut. speed don't keep quality usually.

Love your videos, my friend, but please take some advice from an old broadcaster: Be sure to look into the camera lens and not the flip out screen. I find myself unable to fully engage with you as you are never looking at me.
