Thank you thank you! I work in a district where we are hurting for certified teachers. I am a teacher of 11 yrs (not consecutively) certified in bilingual education and have taught first and second. We’ve been without a music teacher most of this school year and I was presented with the opportunity of beginning a teaching journey as a music teacher. So I will be working on my certification in Music. The extent of my music background is playing the clarinet back in sixth , seventh and eighth grades!!! I have no clue where to start but am definitely up for the challenge but would really appreciate any all advice and guidance and in my search I have found you!! Yayyyy🎉 thank you again. Unfortunately, I don't think that's legal. I try to keep my kids private!

@@BeccasMusicRoom - It's legal at some schools. There are plenty of vids of music teachers actually in class with kids. If your school has a picture/video permission release form then it should be totally legal. My school has 800 kids in it and every single kid is allowed to be photographed and videoed. Awesome!

"Movement Activities for 4 & 5 Grade Music Lessons" A hard nut to crack. BUT IFF your Scope and Sequence supports this in Georgia, Just Dance is a good option. I have several videos broken down by level edited 3 per video the goal, 1 move to the beat 2 find the pattern 3 copy what you see (style). Dancing can vertically align to other areas such as performance singing. As in confidence to solo sing in front of others.

you think you have it rough? since february, i've been teaching k-6 music in a room with 22 buckets, some sticks, and basically no pitched instruments. and they haven't had a music teacher since october. they've been subsisting on sub teachers, none of whom was a music teacher. i'm in until the end of the year; there'll be a new music teacher next year.

I was shoved into Music teaching several years ago (for 3 years, including Covid/online) and it happened again this year. Something that is a lifeline for me, and I usually do it for the last 15 minutes of class, is lyric videos. (I insert them into a Google Slide which lets you skip the commercials!) Also, dance tutorials-- the hip hop ones and even line dancing are always enjoyed. My problem this year is that my "music room" is about 12x14, and very little room to breathe, let alone dance!
