I'm 3 years late to this peony party, but just want to say thank you for such a great tutorial! I have been struggling big time with peonies and it's kinda nice to hear that they're challenging, even for experienced artists!

Thanks! Peonies are my favourite flower so I'm glad I found this beginner tutorial. I have a beautiful peony in my garden that starts a brighter pink then somehow changes to a coral and fades to a peachy colour. I think it's called sunset.

You are so right. Peonies are TRICKY. But they are my very favorite so I keep trying. I was super excited to see this video pop up. You make it look easy...which it is NOT, but I sure do love watching and learning from you!

The most difficult to paint of flowers is peony. You make it looks simpler. But I think I still need a lot of to practice to do that. Thanks very much to teach us🌹🙏!

Please don't ever stop making tutorials. I have been painting for fun for the last couple years and I still can't do flowers. Yours is the first tutorial I've seen that gives steps that I can accomplish and that looks somewhat like yours. Your peonies are the only ones I have found that really LOOK like peonies!! I suppose its because at different stages they can be a tight ball, then they relax & then they sort of flop ☺. anyway, yours look like peonies! Thank you!!!

I just discovered your channel and I can't tell you how grateful I am that you're doing these videos in real time without music or in fast mode. Please don't change that lol. You also mentioned around 3 minutes in that you might add another layer of color later on... that's what I'd like to learn please. I would love to learn how to layer! Edit... Like you say, a loose peony and a loose rose are about the same in difficulty. I more or less can do a Rose-surprisingly. But say peony and my heart begins to race.

Ellen, I'm noticing when you do the flower petal, its rounded. Is that a certain brush tip or angle? I have princeton brushes but still get the same pointed c curve. Is it me? Help. Ha
