Unless that strap gets stored really dainty like, the webbing is going to slide right off the rounded hook ends. I just fold mine in half a number of time and tie it all into a neat half hitch.

Ratchet it tight. Bounces around in the tool box and is fine.

I had to buy a bunch of ratchet straps recently after losing my old ones somewhere I wanted to take better care of my new ones. I followed some other KZfaqr’s clever method and I’ve now undone all that to redo it this way, it’s way more secure and tidy. Cheers.
