A cheeky little behind the scenes of how I did this artistic self portrait! As always I aim to make these videos as easy to follow along as I can so that anyone can do them! I hope this gave you a little chuckle when you saw how I actually took this photo LOL!

Hi! Thank you so much for sharing. I was given a self portrait assignment and tried this technique. Didn't want to submit it at first coz it's too personal, I feel. But after my lecturer rejected a few other ideas I had, I had no choice and showed him this project. He liked it so much, he told my coursemates to look at it as a simple yet very creative example. It's kinda embarrassing and flattering at the same time. So happy I tried this. Can't thank you enough! Thank you.. Thank you!

MADDIE!! you are so cute and i loved this tutorial. it seriously is unlike any self-portrait tutorial i have watched. i have always seen people playing with light + shadows like this but i would never think it was possible to do on your own! so cool! thank you so much for giving build + bloom a shoutout, i am so glad you enjoy the group!

Thank you so much! I know, its pretty crazy on the pull back ahaha! The right lighting works wonders. I wish I could tell you but I basically made it myself for another shoot! It was based on a VSCO preset but I fiddled around with it for ages to come up with this and was lucky that it worked on these self portraits!
