Here’s a tip Wendi, when using a hammer, hold it from the bottom end rather than under the head. It will be a lot easier & more efficient to use ! Good video :)

This year I tried a raised bed and to prep the area, I dug at the general spot. Apparently, about 2" below the surface, I found 3 very large flagstone rock pieces, about 12" length on each. So if I had tried to put rebar down in these spots, I may have hit some resistance. There's probably a whole lot of stuff buried just a few inches under the soil in all these neighborhood homes.

I try to repurpose, reuse… I remember seeing an old wood ladder, painted, and placed in a garden. I kept kicking myself because I had an old wood ladder I got rid of☹ I could see all the things I could have done with it now😹

I feel the urge to leave this comment. You are a true gardener! I have seen videos where "gardeners" spend loads and buy artsy/fartsy implements and throw it together to form a garden. Not impressive at all. The real beauty and creativity lies in repurposing, reusing, hacking, experimenting, salvaging from scrap and then creating the garden. Your garden is soooooo cool! Very soothing to the eyes and mind. I do something similar, except on a much larger scale, in over 2500 of planted space in my backyard, growing over 70 varieties (all types of eggplants count as one) of vegetables and have some fruit trees that I have planted (apples, peaches, pears, figs and grapes). If you happen to be in the East Coast (NJ) please visit me. Also, if you are interested in tried and tested varieties that I grow, lemme know and I will share seeds (for free).

The rebar is 10 feet long, how can you take it home? I was asking if they can cut it for me, 😄, the answer is no, they can't.

WHERE were you able to buy rebar that DID NOT LOOK like it had been RUSTING for 20 years??? The rebar at Lowe's is a hot RUSTY MESS, and you surely need gloves to handle it!!!
