Easy Tadke wali Moong Dal Recipe | Dal Masoor And Moong Recipe | Easy Dal For Students, Kids
To make this dal, you will need the following ingredients:
- 1/2 cup of yellow lentils (moong dal)
- 1/2 cup of red lentils (masoor dal)
- 3 cups of water
- 2 & 1/2 cups of water
- 1 tsp of salt
- 1/2 tsp of turmeric powder
- 2 tbsp of ghee or oil
- 1 tsp of cumin seeds
- 1 pinch of asafoetida
- 4 dried red chilies
- 1/2 tsp of ginger (grated)
- 5 garlic cloves (chopped)
- 2 green chilies (chopped)
- 2 onions (chopped)
- 3 tomatoes (grated)
- 1 cup of water
- 1 tsp of Maggi Masala-ae Magic
- Coriander leaves (for garnishing)
The steps to make this dal are as follows:
- Wash and soak the yellow and red lentils for 30 minutes in a bowl.
- In a pressure cooker or a pot, heat ghee or oil and add cumin seeds, asafoetida, dried red chilies, ginger, garlic, green chilies, and onion. Fry them until the onion is golden brown.
- Add the grated tomatoes, salt, turmeric powder, and Maggi Masala-ae Magic. Cook until the tomatoes are soft and the oil separates.
- Add the soaked lentils and 4 cups of water. Mix well and pressure cook for 3 whistles or cook until the lentils are soft and mushy.
- Open the lid and check the consistency of the dal. If it is too thick, add some water and simmer for a few minutes. If it is too thin, mash some of the lentils with a spoon and cook until the desired consistency is reached.
- Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with rice, roti, or naan.
