Easy to say. Here’s the thing. If you have tier 2 visa and a good salary, all good. If you are any other visa, say tier 4 or dependant visa, even if you have £100k as salary, banks will be reluctant to lend you loan. Plus you need 5-10% down payment ready. Plus solicitor charges around £2.5k and a buffer of £2.5k for any repairs and move in expenses.

Very good info. Anyone, buy a house as early as possible. I agree with what he said about buying a house or flat. Wherever possible buy a house not flat. About house move, make sure you always update your new address with your employer, bank, HMRC etc. It is your personal responsibility not your employer's. You can also use royal mail's redirection facility (charges due) for sometime and that would ensure your letters will find you if you forgot to update address with anyone. As he said, never go for chitti. You can also bring the money you earned from your employment you had abroad before coming to the UK.
