In this video you can watch step by step how I made a cross cut sled for my homemade table saw.
This particular type of table saw sled is very easy to make and its design is ideal in order not to lose cutting height.
Hope you enjoy the video and always remember....Rust is Gold!

I really liked the way you built your cross cut sled. So you better enjoy the height of the saw blade and do the same job as if you had done it the traditional way. Congratulations! Very good!

I watch may diy videos, and admire the presents skill and willingness to share their project ideas.. the one conclusion I have come too is that the starting point is to own or have initial access to a high quality table saw , this makes every other project easier , accurate and durable

Rob I just meant that a precision table saw when used for initial cutting will make anything made from it so much more accurate for other projects etc ,did not intent to find fault with your efforts.

Cute sled... for cutting kindling. How do you know that your sled is square to the blade? You have some major dust issues and not wearing a mask? Bolt down your drill press. Safety first!

Good video. Did you make your table saw and rip fence? I made a similar sled and put two 2"x2"s on the back of the sled where the blade comes thru and then screwed on a metal plate to let the saw blade hit in case the sled was pushed thru the 2"x2"'s. That is to protect my fingers.

@UPSIPO Yeah, those blocks are useless. But I don't see the runners being stopped: Usually those slots go all the way through, so the runners may protrude at the far end as much as they need.

Very simple but I highly question the accuracy of the cut. I doubt it's 90 degrees to the blade. Do a KZfaq search on the 5 cut method, it's typically within .005 inches per foot of being square.

A little confused, you didn’t show how you squared it up to the blade? Btw, technically it’s not a sled! A table saw sled needs a bottom! Not to be picky, but no riving knife either???
