WOW!!!! This was FANTASTIC!!!!! Love the way you emphasized the tool… "Color Sampler" and then with selecting the color to match… using "command+shift" to get the point for R,G,B in the curves pallet. THAT WAS KEY!!!!! Your the BEST!!! Keep up the great work and hope you are doing well with your recovery.

Great technique! After trying many different tutorials, I found this one to be the best. This is so useful for me at work, and the only thing else I've found to be useful is, after matching the values to match the target tone, I do tweak the curves manually slightly, and I add a brightness/contrast, and hue/saturation adjustment layers if needed. Thanks a lot!

What a great tutorial! Once again, I appreciate your tips on how to efficiently use some of the basic tools. For example, I was aware of the color sampler, but it never occurred to me how to use it in such a practical way. I love the +- shortcut. It reminds me that a few years ago I found out about the Backspace shortcut for the Lasso tool thanks to your videos.

I am creating gradient maps to match skin tones and saving them to apply to other photos, but this method looks to be quicker. Will have to compare the results. What is this quicker method you describe using 3DLC? I have used 3dlc in the past to create luts but Im wondering what is the process for matching skin tones that is faster than this method here?

If this is too much work for you, Photoshop is not for you. Really, to everyone learning, this is as simple as it gets. Plugins and the new smart filters are great, but basic techniques like this are fundamentals and if you rely too heavily on high level processes you're never going to get a handle on how this stuff really works. It really is amazing what you will start to see when you know what to look for and how to fix it.
@haies09
@haies09 2 жыл бұрын
Work smarter not harder. With 3DLC you’re creating LUTs and can apply it to a set of images with no need to mask, you can also correct/match by numbers inside the program, with tools much simpler to use kzfaq.info/get/bejne/hL-qfbuV1bCogIk.html

Use the "Curve Display Options" in the Properties panel to change the "Show Amount of:" option from "Pigment/Ink %" to "Light (0-255)" The number value was limited to 0-100 because it represents a percentage. Change it to "Light" value and you'll be good.
