Hello I don’t understand. Is it the motionbro plugin that tracks the face and add the 3d model or is it aefacetools? Is aefacetools just an assets package? It’s not clear to me why I have to have both to do this? Can I do it just with motionbro plugin if I have my own 3d models? Thanks.

Motion Bro is a free plugin. AE Face Tools is one of many preset packs compatible with the Motion Bro plugin. You can use your own 3D models as shown in the tutorial.

Can you make the mask track facial movements?

If you mean tracking parts of the face, for example tracking the movement of pupils or lips, then this is technically possible, but I have not implemented this functionality yet. I hope to do this in the next update.

Hello, I just bought AE Face Tools, but it doesn't work for me. I have version 24.5 of AE. When I follow the steps and select SimpleModel in Standard(AE 2024+), AF throws the following error: "After Effects (Beta) warning: 3 files are missing since you last saved this project", then In the viewer I get a yellow line with the following message: This project contains expression errors: error 1 of 18. When I enter the composition that is created "3D Model - Simple Model" only 5 layers are seen, unlike what happens in the video tutorial where 7 layers are seen. I'm missing the compositions: - SHADOW MATTE - # name of the video being edited I also see that the layer [Blocky Photo Studio.hdr] It has the not found icon. Then when I entered the composition [3D Model Holder] Of the three layers that exist, the layers [Guy Fawkes Mask.glb] and [#Reference Face] are not found. Can someone help me?? Thanks

Yeah but if you don't have the new version of AE face tools you are shit out of luck and i think that is disappointing considering I paid for the Facetools program was still limited to what I could do and was not what is was supposed to be when purchased.

If you bought it on videohive.net, you don’t need to buy it again - just download the updated version. If you're talking about the stripped down version from gumroad.com - unfortunately there is no "3D Holder" category included, but there are presets in the "Track Points 3D" category - this will also allow you to attach a 3D model to parts of the face or head.
