The only scenario I can see a 50 cent yard sale happening is the wife finding out her husbands been cheating while he’s still at work

We had one like that when my grandparents died, we had everything in section A 50 cents, B was $2, C was 5, D was 10, and E was 10+ But that was when we were selling everything they owned that no one wanted to keep in the family. If they were cleaning out a garage or a shed or something and just want it gone I could definitely see a 50 cent garage sale happening
@Thi-Nguyen2 жыл бұрын
Don’t know if it’s a smaller town thing, but I’ve seen these types of garage sales all around town my whole life. In fact, for a few years, there was a family a few houses over that had garage sales seasonally. They had two young kids and would sell the stuff the kids had outgrown at the end of each season.

Make like 3-4 dollars per item usually, not too hard to make decent pocket money until you get enough for the item you want or to go for bigger fish, like it got me enough so that I could start missing switches which get me like 200 profit each, just for changing the outside shells of the switch+cons

Easy to figure this out, you can look at sold things on eBay. You can also see how many sold in the last 90 days and for how much. Make sure you charge enough shipping, don't do free shipping, shipping is NEVER free for anyone. If you don't charge enough shipping, you may lose all you profit to shipping.

You could sell it for 5 to 10 bucks for a huge profit gain since the items in the video were just 50 cents
@jasonchenoweth54483 жыл бұрын
Yes, but it's a great starting point, because most kids that age don't know the actual price of the items since they've never had to purchase them. And since it is used, and as long as it's working, a kid could essentially cut that price in half, put it up for $30 and still make a really nice profit of $29.50. Sell 10 items like that and that's about 300 bucks. The goal is to teach them the value of a dollar and what its like to earn your own money. But I'm sure you knew that already
@senorpoole39882 жыл бұрын
This video was intended for the kids on the south side of Chicago. Where there’s a yard sale on every block with no sense of danger at all. And they all have valuable items for cheap that you can flip! Definitely don’t need to live in a wealthy suburban area for this to work!

Yes, so don’t be an idiot and expect to sell an old notebook for a fortune. But study closed auctions and see how much various objects are selling for. Things like old jewelry can sell cheap or bring surprisingly big money. You have to have an eye for what’s going to sell and you have to be willing to educate yourself a little bit. Don’t be lazy or you’ll never make any money obviously. I sold a couple of old paintings that I hated for several hundred each. You never know with things like art. Some people like bad art.

@@Thisolddog96 you’re mixing up what levels are being reported to the IRS with income levels till tax is due. No matter what’s reported now, the tax you have to pay isn’t changing. Thus if you have $10k of side hustle cash and that’s all you made, the amount of tax you’re going to have to pay doesn’t change at all just because you might get a 1099 from eBay

people like to just clean out their junk. They don’t want it, it’s not garbage, and eBay takes a long time to make sales sometimes. If you’re trying to clean out a junk room quickly you sell things for dirt. If you make things expensive then the chances of anyone buying it are unlikely
@xtonibx57703 жыл бұрын
Getting rid of their old junk is way faster and easier for selling it on eBay. Deciding how much to price an item, making a listing, weighing the package, preparing the shipping, buying boxes, etc is just something they didn't want to do to get rid of it.
