Wow I learned so much thank you :)! How do you know the scans are going to be the right size when you print them out ? I al getting lost when I rotate and resize my scans and worry it won't be the right size when i'm done drawing the lines.

If you scan at 100 percent there is no need to resize. I am careful not to resize my scans during the digitizing.

This is an awesome video. I have a question. how do you know if it is proper scale after you scanned the pattern in? I'm sorry if you mentioned it...I watched video a few times and didn't catch it.

if you scan the pattern at 100 percent in the scanner settings you automatically have it correct. if you want to be 100 percent sure, draw a 1 inch squareon your pattern before scanning. check in illustrator this is actually 1 inch and you are good to go!

Do you have a video on how to duct tape yourself and create that block? This is amazing and much less costly than using StyleCAD and getting its digitizer as well!

I will do one soon. I will use my dress form for it, but the idea will be the same. I don't have a helper at the moment due to covid. There are also great flat patternmaking ways to do this using math that will get your really darn close. Glad this helped!

@@ArianaBauer I have been flat patterning for the past decade, but for close/accurate fitting purposes, this is a skill I need to strengthen, also because I don't have a helper to duct tape me as well.

@@DuchessPinkbunny I am always refining my blocks. I keep changing weight and size so its a never ending cycle!

@@DuchessPinkbunny I struggle also because I keep gaining and losing weight and changing size. Its a process that never seems to end, getting a good fit block!

@@ArianaBauer I know that feeling! Also, the amount of books I have on sloper drafting always have different methods, so my blocks don't ever look the same!
