Bro here in colombia we have like 6/7 different parties. And 2 of the actual party were created by the same Person a former president and now Senator. Him basicaly use his fame as president to get votes to" stop the communism in our country" Him cant be investigated as a normal citizen because of the senator protection. Only can be investigated by supreme court. And guess what all of them are friends of him.

there are both pros and cons....there is no simple solution for a problem...people have to get educated, involved and know their stuff as a citizen... am an indian we have multi-party system there have been times were we have multiple 10-12 month premiers....no stability and stable economic growth like china and USA had for last 50 years....thats why last 2 times now we gave clear verdict.... Our prime ministers were in constant fear and appeasement mode like democrats....because if they dint one of the smaller party walks out of coalition and government falls. YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHAT YOU ARE WANTING

@@shivamb-s8k That makes sense, but I think that’s the point. They’re supposed to work together and form coalitions. If one party starts to act in away that the others don’t agree with, they might lose the power of the coalition. In America, we sort of have the same thing. The two parties are big tent and house diverse opinions. The different parts have to work together despite differing opinions and reach a consensus.

@Crispy Cream and how many senator and representatives have each party? By wikipedia: Exits 5 parties in USA... But democrat and republican have all the sentors and representative.... well less 1 representative who belong to libertarian party.

@Crispy Cream we may have multiple parties but it’s a two-party system. The “spoiler effect” (you can look it up) punishes voters who don’t vote for the establishment. So yes, one can vote for another party but that hurts your political voice. The German voting system protects people who vote for a small party. In essence other parties *exist* but that’s about all they do; exist.

Wähler wählen dann zwar Parteien, aber vor dem Hintergrund dessen, wen sie auch als Kanzler haben wollen. Genauso hat in den USA ein parteiloser Präsidentschaftskandidat keine realistischen Siegchance; er/sie muss dafür sorgen, die primaries eine der beiden großen Parteien zu gewinnen und dadurch dann gewählt zu werden. Zwar steht hier dann der Präsident auf dem Wahlzettel, aber eben auch vor dem Hintergrund der jeweiligen Partei. Im Resultat kommt das üblicherweise auf das selbe raus - nur eben von der anderen Seite. Ausnahmen sind eher theoretisch möglich als praktisch realistisch.
