¡José! Qué raro verte en un vídeo cuando normalmente sólo oigo tu voz. Escucho el podcast Easy Spanish a menudo y por eso no te había visto nunca. Después de unos minutos de ver este video, de repente me di cuenta de que esa era tu voz. jaja ... no te ves como me imaginaba, pero eso es cierto de todas las personas que he oído antes de ver. 2:23 - 2:52 Solo para complementar la explicación: ignoro si ocurra también en otros países hispanohablantes, pero al menos aquí en Mexico no es raro oír el verbo _dar_ empleado en el sentido de _regalar_ , aunque eso sí, prácticamente siempre precedido o seguido de complementos que dejan en claro que se está usando como sinónimo de _regalar_ . Por ejemplo: • A: "¿Ya sabes qué le vas a *dar* a tu abuelita *de cumpleaños* ?" B: "No, todavía no sé bien." • Α: "Mañana es el día del padre, ¿verdad? Β: "Sí, ¿porqué?" A: "Es que estaba pensando qué sería bueno *darle* a mi papá este año." 9:07 ¡Muchas gracias por la mención, querido José, y el resto del equipo de Easy Spanish! 😊 Es verdad que me vi algo flojo con aquel comentario sobre el roque y el alfil, pues debí haber incluido la etimología de ambas palabras; casi imperdonable que lo haya omitido, pues aparte de gran amante de los idiomas, ¡me *encanta* la etimología! Por ello y si a alguien le interesa, helas aquí 😉 : • _roque_ : del árabe رُخّ [rujj] (= "carro" (en la acepción original, no como sinónimo de "automóvil"), y últimadamente del persa) • _alfil_ : del árabe الْفِيل [al-fiil] (= " el elefante", literalmente), éste, a su vez, del persa پيل [piil] , y últimadamente del acadio 𒄠𒋛 [piiru] ¡Felices fiestas y un fuerte abrazo!

¡Hola! It is not as common... It is correct and we would definitely understand you. Maybe you can say it that way if you can't find the right conjugation, while you practice "subjuntivo"? hahaha I think subjuntivo comes after listening to a lot of Spanish, so be patient. (; Saludos, Pau

I like your videos, however this is not "Easy Spanish." It is definitely more on an intermediate or somewhat advanced level.

You're right. The grammar part is more advanced. Personally I focus on understanding, so the little "story" is at the right level for me. I watched the video at speed 85% and I read the subtitles (I paused to read in Spanish and English). I focused on understanding. Then I listen to it again without pause and I try not to read the subtitles (at least not the translation)... I focussed on the prononciation. Used this way, it is good for the beginner that I am. As for the grammar explanation, it helps me understand what is going on... But I am not ready to use it myself. I guess I can watch the video again in a few months when I am a bit more advanced. I watch each video 2 or 3 times, and I focus on what I can get from it without worrying about what I miss. Learning a language is a long journey... as long as I am having fun in the process, it is fine. Take care!
