Good call on the Safeway option for dinner. When we were on Maui, it was often $150 for the four of us to each have a burger / fries and a drink. HAWAII is crazy expensive! Once we took the exchange into account a basic meal was often about $200 Canadian. My boys are currently in Honolulu so I can only imagine what that is going to cost us when we get the bill!

We have a five guys here too. I have never eaten there and that is the reason because they just too expensive for what I can afford.

Thanks, Angie for coming and getting us so we could be part of the eat it or yeet it segment honestly to me it would depend if I would eat it or not it would depend like if I was lost in the middle of the forest, and that was the only thing I had to eat I would probably eat it cooked or not cooked but if I was just out camping and it fell, I probably would end up just getting rid of it. I have a hard time eating things after it falls on the ground.😂

Saved $40 and family bonding time? Ya'll definitley made the best choice. Happy Independence Day. We've not been eating out or long traveling much to save up for Brian's Father's 90th birthday on July 13th. His alzheimers is really kicking in and as many of the kids (8), grand kids(18), and great-grandkids(20 so far) are coming in for it. My Mother in Law is enjoying every bit of the planning and assigning of tasks. She's 86 this year. I think even a few cousins could be driving over from Pasco for a day. Wet food gets yeeted if it goes where it's not meant to. (If the dog doesn't snatch it up first.)

If you want to try a good chain burger place I recommend habit burger tad bit cheaper than five guys but still good quality!

Going out to eat for a family of 4 is $100 or more dollars.. people wanted $15 an hour and don't understand that prices on everything has to go up to give you that $15 an hour..

Last time I was at 5 guys in Denver I paid $31 for a double cheeseburger with bacon medium fry and drink.. last time I will ever go back. I was only $23 the previous times and that was just because I didn't have a grill on the truck since they take to long to cool down. I can't justify $31 for a fast food meal

We have one of those restaurant here (in Montreal) also and it is indeed very expensive but the food is really good. However, you have to choose the small version. It is exactly the same burger (same size of bread) but with only one patty which is enough for a normal adult. If you are more than one person you can share fries.

That's absolutely insane that 5 Guys was that much!! But in all honesty yes they give you a Bag of greasy fries that's shareable!!!! Lol BUT for $78 I'd left also!!!!

Make me a burger on the Webber grille every time instead of going out. Just bought 50 pounds of burger from a farmer, lean as can be. Five dollars a pound.
