honestly even if it’s 150 per person that’s kinda a steal for a 5 star place.

I know, right? I was prepared to be shocked by an insane price, but this is surprisingly "cheap" (in a relative sense)

@@sloth6247definitely. 2500 pesos for a meal per person is INSANE

@@sloth6247True, that is not a cheap meal but also not outrageously expensive, but it is something you’d save up for a bit to be able to really go all out to enjoy. For their price of 1 you’d be able to have a nice meal for 2 in my part of Mexico.

In pesos you could only spoil yourself like that at much twice a year like a birthday and an anniversary and that’s pretty much it

The owner of Pujol also owns Cosme and Atla in NYC and Damian in Los Angeles. Pujol is fantastic, I enjoyed a 10 course taco lunch there in 2019.

Congratulations on your friendiversary! I just reached my 40th with my best friend this fall, and we've had some amazing tasting menus along the way. I hope we'll get to try this restaurant as well some day. 😊

A lot of people think exceptional food is only available in NY, London or Paris. They're wrong.

Amazing!!! Fun fact, but the Michelin Guide just came to Mexico for the first time in 2024. Pujol and Quintonil were the only restaurants to get 2 Stars. No 3 Star restaurants currently.

I wanted to comment on the portion sizes but honestly, with the way prices have been going up, you can’t get much more food for that price in regular, American restaurants. Unless, that’s the price of the food for one person?
@organicmagic8822
@organicmagic8822 6 ай бұрын
it’s SEVEN courses. Even if the portions are small, that’s more than enough food
@Tennisisreallyfun

Please don’t comment on the portion sizes, you will only embarrass yourself.
@ashtaylor4107
@ashtaylor4107 2 ай бұрын
Seven portions of tiny ass plates will not fill up most people or at least not for very long, but it does all depend on the type of food. Proteins and fats are much more filling, so maybe it would be fine. Carbs and filler don’t do that. I’m not embarrassed by facts. Some people might get full and some people won’t from this. The price is the key. For course meals like this that are insanely expensive, it wouldn’t be worth for anything other than the experience.
@Tennisisreallyfun
@Tennisisreallyfun 2 ай бұрын
@@ashtaylor4107 Price is one thing and if it’s too expensive for you, then that’s totally okay. But until you actually sit through a full tasting menu, don’t comment on something you don’t know (because it’s clear you have no experience at all with it, trust me). Not once have I left such a restaurant where I wasn’t full, and I have eaten my way through many tasting menus in my life. On exactly two occasions, I was so full I couldn’t even make it to dessert, and I’m a guy with a big appetite for good food. So try it and then comment. You’ll find that unless you go to a restaurant that specifically serves vegetarian or vegan cuisine, it will be evenly balanced with meat, fish, vegetables, and your precious carbs and fillers. And you might just…wait for it…enjoy yourself😱😱😱 And the food will be pretty darn good too. I mean, haven’t you ever thought why these restaurants are so highly awarded? Didn’t you think it might be because the food is actually delicious? Go ahead and find out for yourself😉

Nah I’m good, and it’s pronounced with an h not a j. Source? Last name of my ex husband is Pujols and he corrects people hourly about it.
@BerylShereshewsky
@BerylShereshewsky 10 ай бұрын
It’s actually a catalan word and the j is not pronounced like an h in this sense but of course you’re right that typically j is like an h is Spanish just not in this case. Here is Enrique Olvera pronouncing it in case you want more proof: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/nL6gibZjlpOqYI0.htmlsi=2U6wb3XauZn-sX3o

I'll never understand why people pay so much money in Michelin star hotels for small portions when you can feed a whole house stomachful with the same amount, call me poor idc
@michex2081
@michex2081 10 ай бұрын
It's not just about the food - you're also paying for the atmosphere of the restaurant, (hopefully) a better wage for the servers, the quality of the food. It's okay that you prioritize other values just as much as she values this once-in-a-lifetime event with her friends 🙂 both are valid.

At that point, the food is more art than nutrition. And great art is also expensive 🤷‍♀️ tbh I'm not a huge fan of that type of dining either. It tastes great, but it's gone after two mini bites. I went to a Michelin star restaurant once (not on my budget lol) and it was definitely a cool experience, when you understand it as art.

I’ve been to a few Michelin rated restaurants, and they’ve all been worth the price to me. It’s not just about the food, the service and surroundings are also a factor. The food is the main event, though. It is edible art and included flavors and ingredients I’d never had before or since. I think of it this way - exceptional food should take you on a journey. The chef has a story he’s telling with the courses he’s created and served in a deliberate order, so I let them lead me where they want me to go. But I can understand why someone may not value it and everyone is free to choose how they spend their money.
