May I ask what you mean by boundaries? Sorry when it comes to eating and food and seeing something different that I can learn from to help my son I'm gonna ask. So please do not think that I'm out to judge you or how you raised in any way I just want to help my son eat he's in therapy he's afraid of food.

@@safahmie very respectful and no worries! i'm no therapist but i do volunteer as a crisis counselor so i have run into eating disorders. i feel as though your son is different then me but i know eating disorders come down to gaining control and sometimes are a form of self harm. my boundary problems stem from a father who is a narcissist. Narcissists develop out of trauma and seek to control everything in their world because of it. That control left me without the boundaries I needed to say no because the amount of control he needed meant I always had to be an enthusiastic yes with everything he wanted despite my feelings. I hope that helps... considering you sound incredibly empathetic and worried about your son, that's pretty much a sign you're not a narcissist btw because i don't want you to think that you're in the same scenario

@@erikal1593 thank you. My son is 4 and has been a handful since birth lol. I'm at the tell me what you want and I'll make/get it. Other parents judge me and tell me just send him to bed without dinner or whatever. They don't know what it's like to see your kid go days without real food out of fear. Oh he's just being picky they say. I always give him a little bit of whatever I made and try to get him to try it. We turn into a game. Love the heck out of him he definitely keeps me on my toes. Thank you again. Sorry your dad was like that.

@@safahmie no worries! i actually am trained in ABA and so i understand young kids too. something we're taught is to get a reward, we give a choice between a and b. whatever they choose and they complete, they get the reward. figuring out his reinforcer may be rough but helpful. knowing ABA isn't an end all be all though. i've dealt with many a tantrum and heartbreaking looks. Overall though, i'm so sorry for what you're going through. it must be heartbreaking to deal with all that. just know you're doing good!
