Please don't eat horseshoe crab. Any of them. I believe that one is a mangrove horseshoe, which does not have a conservation status but is believed to be near extinction despite high density local concentrations. All horseshoe crabs should be left to be. I don't normally get persnickety about what people choose to eat, and I feel like a snob saying it, but please. They need all the help they can get.

Nice to see them go with the head split option since a lot of people get up in arms about them being tossed in alive or animals still alive like the shrimp. Quick relatively painless way of dispatching them, and for anyone freaked out, any movement after is simply residual nerve responses.

0:52 A correct way to put down a lobster quickly without it suffering, not only that, it makes the meat quite tastier. I don’t know how to explain it, but I saw someone explained it on a KZfaq video about how boiling the lobster without putting it down first will make the lobster very stressed and will make the meat less tasty. In case you dont know, foods in general are ridiculously cheap in Thailand, Malaysia & Indonesia, if compared to US. Here in Indonesia, foods that are hundreds of USD are considered super expensive, which most people aren't willing to spend, even if they could afford it. You can get most of local foods for less than 10 USD, some even less than 5 USD to fill up your entire stomach.

The Octopus legs aren't not only full of neurons, they each have their own smaller brain. The central brain in the head gives general orders, like look for food, move in this direction, but each leg is acting independent from each other That's why they were still sucking at your throat when you were eating them. Octopus are really intelligent and fascinating animals.

there are two types of mantis shrimp - one with the punchers and one with the pincers! these ones looked like the pincer kinds, as they had the classic mantis arms with the barbs on them. still, had no clue they were edible as well - can’t imagine something that is known for being so violent (both punchers and pincers) would be so sweet and tender!

@@lasvegasspycam1055 No, they're 100% correct. Stupid ass leftist westerners pretend everything revolves around their tiny minds and nazi behaviors. Horseshoe crab is local to certain parts of other nations who's cultures have accepted eating them as another regular member of seafood. You're telling people to up and abandon an easy access food source for some western sissies sympathies?

Personally wouldnt eat horseshoe crabs due to them being slightly toxic specially their eggs but the rest looked great. Also maybe not the octopus since thats a choking hazard while its still wriggling.

Baby octopus reincarnate as Belgians. I know it sounds crazy. But it’s true! Every Belgian I know died as a baby octopus in their prior life. That’s why they are known for their waffles, chocolate, and holding giant African colonies hostage for copper.
