Day 5 on OMAD along with running a few miles a day and I’m feeling so damn good! My daily work uniform especially my pants are feeling much more loose 😎. The hardest part is taking your mind away from food when your stomach is growling. Push for that late afternoon or evening meal, but don’t overdue it. Get a nice sized portion and eat it slowly to appreciate that meal. Also drink water throughout the day which helps a lot of taking your mind off of food. It’s all about dedication and discipline and you will have more energy 💪🏽.

Ty Simpson Hey ! I did not track calories because I kind of know when I’m within macros. My regular lifestyle is plant based so I have to up my meal a bit more because the lack of calories. So when I want to amp up calories I’ll eat like 2 boiled eggs, a veggie burger with wheat bread, tomatoes, lettuce, and French fries. I get full fast so I just stop eating when I am full. And also I drank solely water. If you felt like having something different make detox water . Also adding 2 taps of ACV in room temp water will help surpass the appetite! If you need something outside of water just have one non-water drink. Moderation is key !

Your tongue naturally grows papillae. When you eat food, it scrapes it away over time. When you're not eating, your tongue continues to grow papillae and over time it just gets bigger and more dense which is why your tongue looks white. it's not good or bad, it's simply nature.

I do omad like 2-3 days a week and the other days I’ll do extreme intermittent fasting like 21 hour fast while walking/jogging 3-4 miles a day and went from 305 at my heaviest to 289 in a little over 2 weeks. My eating period is around 4pm and I won’t go past 7 pm . And I won’t eat till 4 or even 5 the next day. Also do cardio first thing in the morning on a empty stomach , fat will just melt off your body literally. Just cut out soda sweets and junk food and alcohol . It’s so easy when you really put your mind and effort into it . As long as you stay consistent with changing bad habits it goes a long way with weight loss .

Hi, I'm a dentist. This happened to your tongue because chewing stimulates salivation and, if you don't eat anything, you do not chew and your mouth becomes dehydrated. So the tip is to always chew something between meals to keep your mouth healthy, like sugar free chewing gum.

I was usually trying to have low glycemic meal (basically be around 20 points glycemic load per meal, maximum 100 a day) I was curious about OMAD since I'm already used to intermittent fasting with eating window of 6-8 hours usually. I don't want to cut carbs completely or go ketogenic but i wondered if I'd benefit of still keeping the glycemic load of 20-25 for the only meal, perhaps if i have an eating window of 3-4 hours to have also fruits as a snack but separate from the main meal, maybe wait 2 hours in-between at least (and aim for 20-25 glycemic load points again) Then i wouldn't have a 100 score a day but even less of 50-60 which sounds like an improvement in itself 🤔🤔 I like to do 40 grams of raw black rice and black quinoa mix, and bulk it up with 1-2 cups cauliflower rice and mix those together after cooking. It gives the feeling you have a big portion of rice while actually mostly eating cauliflower with a tiny portion of rice 😎 i love it , and of course other veggies and protein on the side. Always picking a main carb whether it's rice or potato or whatever , not mixing them. Now all i have to see if how it would work out for something like OMAD!

Absolutely, well said!!!! I lose weight really slowly too and it can be so frustrating. We all love dramatic stories and the idea of a magic bullet but when it doesn’t happen to you it can be soul destroying and make you give up. When I did intermittent fasting and tested my ketones it showed I didn’t go into ketosis doing OMAD at first at all. A total bummer when everyone else around you is dropping kilos just by cutting our breakfast!! It prompted me to do an extended fast to see how long it took my body...! According to the IF and keto gurus it’s because I’m insulin resistant and it takes more IF and keto to reverse things. However, like you, I STILL get faster (no pun intended!) results than traditional methods of weight loss (it would take me 2 solid weeks of caloric restriction and exercise before my body would even think about giving up that first 2 pounds) AND fasting gets progressively easier and easier. You could try alternate day fasting and the occasional extended day fast to mix things up and keep your body guessing. Think that helps. Also lowering carbs before a fast helps with cravings and hunger generally.

I didn't understand why people only do it for 4 weeks. It works better as a permanent way of life. I eat so much more at one sitting and I'm never hungry. All the good and healthy effects are lost when you go back to old habits
@lisabrunolli50144 жыл бұрын
I think four weeks gives you a good idea if it will work for you in the long run. If I can’t see myself sticking to this 1-2 years from now then it won’t work. A healthy lifestyle is one that is sustainable and that will look different for everyone.

@zoelife72724 жыл бұрын
Hi. I'm so glad I found your vid, because you helped me to understand a few things about my journey. Now I started this in 2019, because I was just so sick and tired about the amount of time in any given day, that was spent dedicated to food: planning, shopping, preping, cooking, eating, storing etc. So much time, so just like that, I went to one meal a day. Hunger bothered me probably the first 2 days - I felt hungry during the day. After that it was fine. I really enjoyed the extra time, but I do sometimes anticipate the approaching meal time, and I know it's because of training. During the day I would drink water, or 1 hot beverage. What struck me the most, is that tongue coating issue. I thought something was wrong. I would get that white coating. I brushed more, scraped more. I couldn't say what was wrong with my oral health. I changed to an antibacterial mouth wash, and also visited emergency dental. I was going crazy. I got a clean bill, but since my change, my mouth never felt the same. There was also an immediate change in my bowel movements. I went from regular like clock work to irregular. That scared me. How could a better regime make me irregular? I was cofused and tried to force my body. I always knew that it was not good if you did not go every day. So, I started taking laxatives and drinking rich dairy and this caused problems. What I eventually decided to do was to just monitor the way my body started behaving, and going with it. In my mind, scientifically, my body just could not be worse off for cleaner eating. So I went with it. I still do not go everyday, probably every 2 days. I still drink 1 lt of water when I awake on mornings and then throughout the day, with a meal around 6 pm. I have shed pounds, but that was not my goal. I benefited from that. The process has proved to me, that the training of 3 square meals a day, is not necessarily applicable, and the body gets more down time. I however, have no desire to return to 3 meals a day, and I'm glad for a meal free lunch break during the workday. My current regime may change in the future. Good job to you, and all the best in whatever journey you take.
@Hairnandes4 жыл бұрын
When intermittent fasting, you can become deficient in certain minerals that help your body hold onto water. In short, you need to add a pinch of salt once a day when you are drinking water. Otherwise water will just go through your body and you will become dehydrated, regardless of how much water you drink. In fact drinking a lot will make you even more sodium deficient because it washes out that small amount you take in with your daily meal.

I don’t have a gall bladder either. I also use Dr. Bergs gall bladder formula. Also here is a cocktail to consume that works like a charm. Drink a tall glass everyday for a few weeks you will find a big difference. You will have to consume less as time goes on, your body will tell you. Oh yeah, and ditch those antacids and prescription heart burn meds that have serious side affects...it literally cures gerd and heartburn. Mix in a 2 quart pitcher 1/3 cup lemon juice 2/3 cup apple cider vinegar with “ the mother” ( funky stuff sediment in the bottom) 1/3 teaspoon ground ginger 2/3 teaspoon ground cinnamon 6 to 8 grinds of pink Himalayan salt Sweetener to taste ( don’t use sugar it messes your gut up) Stevia 6 squirts Fill the rest of the pitcher with water..if you need it sweeter, go ahead and add more. I got this from Steve over at Serious Keto...it works!

I can give you some tips from my experience, cuz i use OMAD for years now and i can say that is really powerful tool. When you do omad try yo be keto, cuz it's much easier and you feel less hunger or you do not feel it at all. Food choices is very very important, specially like Lisa said you gotta hit your macros and that's why she had low energy levels on some days and the other reason for low energy levels are the carbs that's why you gotta go full keto. And my last and the most important tip is use OMAD every other day or once or twice a week and is more sustainable long run and is great tools to have less calories for the week and you still get most of the positives. P.S. Sorry for any grammars it is not my main language. And for white tongue I personally use more electrolytes as suppliments, more salt, also lemon water.

Here’s some interesting info in the event you’d like to try keto. I had my gallbladder removed. Flash forward a couple years and I started keto without thinking about my gallbladder. Conventional thinking would have me feeling sick, being in pain, and not tolerating the fat content I was eating. However, I have never felt better. After some research that didn’t just rely on afore mentioned conventional thinking, it’s actually foods fried with a breading or foods fried in rancid oils such as corn oil, canola oil, and vegetable oil that’s hurts me, not healthy natural fats. Also, regarding your tongue and slow weight loss: the boxed foods like rice-a-roni types of things could be causing those things. I enjoyed this video and really appreciate that you completed your challenge! Good job!

Props! 👊🏻😍
@bolo07084 жыл бұрын
Thank you for sharing your experience. I do OMAD...but not on purpose per say. I do Keto and it just works out that I am not hungry. And contrary to many people’s misunderstanding about Keto, you do not load up on fats/calories. It is a higher fat intake way of eating, but calories does matter. Depending on the day, I am between 1000-1300 calories. The rest of my calories comes from the many years of stored fats lol. I do OMAD and eat at the same time everyday. Which in turn, happens to be intermittent fasting. You do not reach full benefits of fasting/OMAD until about 16 hours of no calories. You would be amazed the difference of your results if just changing do OMAD at the same time for your meals. Balancing Keto/OMAD/ IF goes hand in hand and has not be a struggle at all. It’s pretty easy because my body does all the work and my brain loves me for it. It’s been life changing. Good luck on your journey and keep kicking a$$! You rock! ~Bigs

I'm doing OMAD too. I started out with 1.5day fast than was doing 2 meals a day, and sometimes I would eat lunch and not be hungry for dinner so I would skip dinner, so it just developed naturally. Now, I only eat dinner. Sometimes I would have sth little after dinner like a fruit/fruit salad or home-made chocolate dessert ( only because I was making it for my kids). After a while, it gets easier and my energy levels are so so much better now than when I was eating and snacking all day. I used to be exhausted all day. Now I do more housework and even started working out and I used to be a couch potato as I just didn't have the energy even for a walk. I hear that it may take 6 weeks for a body to adjust to a new regimen. For me, it is less than a month and I'm loving it. I lost about 6 kg in 3 weeks. I could have lost more if I restricted myself more with carbs, but heck, if there was an occasion to celebrate sth with my husband I would even have a glass of wine and apple pie for my sister's birthday. Omad is great.

One thing I'm sure that would help with energy levels is taking multi-vitamins when you wake up. There's times when I forget to take them and I just feel tired and unmotivated the entire day, but when I do take them it feels like I'm ready to go take a walk or exercise for a bit. Just having one meal won't give you all the required vitamins, so taking multi-vitamins will do the trick.
