Nice review!!! I’m sure the server would love to see and hear your praise. Yep, rhubarb looks like red celery. When raw same crunch and texture but tart tart tart. When cooked down texture becomes like cooked apples, it sweetens but you do need to add a bit of salt and sugar or simple syrup. Here’s your new experiment food ❤

That was the point of the Smuckers commercial. The name is so bad that they had to make a good product. Like no one would buy something called Smuckers unless it was really good! 😅

Swissed steak is cuz its a tougher piece of meat (round usually) that been pounded or run thru a machine that makes it chopped steak. I think English called it Swiss. I used crushed tomatoes and onions, peppers and whatever else handy and slow cook until fork tender.

My Mom used to make Swiss steak. It was chuck steak baked with canned tomatoes and onions and peppers. It came out tender and falling apart.

People rarely take the time to leave good reviews unless asked but you bet your ass the angry people run to the review section right away to rant

Swiss steak is generally made with pot roast meat/chuck roast, slow cooked in a tomato sauce served with mashed potatoes. It's my favorite!! My grandma used to make it and I'm still trying to duplicate it!

That there sandwich is a french dip home style. No runny juice, just thick and hearty gravy. Slow cooked roast beef and sliced white bread for maximum grandma's kitchen vibe-ocity.

You should have put the mashed potatoes on the sandwich with the beef and dipped in the gravy. It's so good!!! I like it better like that rather than all piled together since I can't do soggy foods. I love your videos so much and you always bring me so much joy!

Our Swiss Steak in Michigan is basically a hamburger patty with mushrooms, onions and brown gravy😂 That REAL roast beef sandwich ❤ seems like everyone is using lunch meat every time I order that anymore. Yours looks perfect!

They have the best strawberry pie. I grew up in Toledo. Schmucker’s, Barry Bagels, Tony Packo’s, and Carmels were my favorite places to eat there.

Works with good reviews too. I’ve gone to places because good reviews and got a totally different experience.

i didn't know schmucker's was a diner, i only heard of it as the jelly lol also that sandwich looked BOMB...it made me think of the turkey gravy sandwiches my mom would make with thanksgiving leftovers, white bread, mashed potatoes on top, turkey on top of that, then gravy then another piece of bread and then gravy over the whole thing, yummmm

That made my mouth water lol I never go by online reviews either. People will give a product a 1 star rating because it was delivered a day late. That's a shipping issue, not product issue lol.

Oh man Schmucker's! That was one place I didn't get to visit while I was just in Toledo. Another great hot roast beef sandwich comes from Reynolds Garden Cafe/Glendale Garden Cafe (if they've rebuilt yet)

In my area of Western North Carolina we have a little old fashioned diner that is just like this place! I literally have never been inside it since it's always too packed and they're only open till 2 pm so I get takeout and it's still great! I never pass up the chance to check our diners!😊

Swiss steak gets its name from the process of tenderizing the meat which is called “swissing”. It has nothing to do with Swiss cheese or Switzerland. 😃 Edited to add (after finishing the video) that that was not a true Swiss steak. Swiss steak isn’t made with ground meat. It’s typically made with a leaner, tougher cut like round steak. It’s tenderized (swissed) then braised low and slow in the sauce. However what you had looked delicious and I would totally eat it. Also, everything looked amazing! Especially that roast beef and gravy. I’m a sucker for a hot open face sandwich.

2 Solutions for the hot roast beef: Use the top of the swiss steak container as another plate. OR put the meat on top of the mashed potatoes and then pour on gravy.
