@@GreekOrthodox7 After the ottoman occupation, a large chunk of Macedonia was taken by The Greeks, Bulgars and others... Aegean Macedonia was told by the Greeks at that time that they are Macedonians who are speaking slavic and have forgotten the Greek language. I have ancestors and relatives from Solun(Thessalonika) and we are of the same bloodline but I am born in Skopje. Many Macedonians have relatives in Greece but nowadays that truth is getting forgotten... the people who stayed after the Greek occupation on the Aegean Macedonian region are of the same blood as us! Nowadays they are mixed with Greek people yes but they were Macedonians speaking slavic same as us! It was forbidden to speak our language and were forced to learn and speak Greek or leave (or be killed), so many people fled from Aegean Macedonia(one of them was my ancestor). Many Macedonian(slavic) speaking villages were pillaged and burned so only the Greek language would be spoken.
