hey asa! i noticed you caught a ‘black carp’. just to inform you, this is actually called a smallmouth buffalo! the way you can tell is that carp have whiskers, and buffalo do not! also, buffalo is a delicious fish to eat, especially when they get big like that! you can make ribs out of them, because the rib bones are so thick. they are also great in steaks and deep fried nuggets. happy fishing!

We have a challenge for you! 48 hour - $20 "dollar store" challenge catch and cook! Get limit of 20 (dollar) items in 20 minutes and no other supplies. No poles, tents, things from home.. just 20 things from the dollar store (tax doesn't count) and find/ make your shelter, fire, cooking tools.. water, bedding, lures, poles, etc .. then forage, catch and cook!

That bass that you kept is a largemouth. A spotted bass usually has a rough patch on the tongue. Largemouth bass can have one as well, but not as often.

I know I'll get hammered for this, but that bass you put in the livewell was not a spotted bass. It was a a largemouth. Statistically, around 10% of largemouth have a small tongue patch. Great catch either way.

If you want to cook carp, you need to score the fish deep and close to each score, the deep fry it until its crispy. That way the small bones are crispy and wont bother you
