Heading to the State Fair of Texas and not sure what to eat? Well, I tried some new and old favorite foods for the state fair of texas. You can't beat a Fletcher's corny dog or fried banana pudding. Look for the Big Tex award winners to see some of the tastiest new treats. fried food is the majn theme, but there are lots more to enjoy!

I tried a deep fried Mars Bar once and a deep-fried Snickers Bar once. I tried them as novelties, expecting them to taste … well, ridiculous, but I was surprised that they were much closer to tasting like legitimate, more traditional desserts than I expected.

I have always wanted to go to an American state fair, however, I live in Canada, so that is not possible. I hear of all the great feeds available at many state, fairs, and wish I could try the mall. Anything fried would be good and I know you can get those at most state fairs. Here in Canada, we have beaver tails, although not a real beaver, tail, but a fried pastry that stretched out then to resemble a beaver tail. My favourite is a Beavertail with a sprinkle of lemon juice and cinnamon sugar, it’s so delicious. If you ever get up here to Canada, you got a try them.K

@@allyson1691 Hi Alison, I just want to on your comment about the temperature in Canada. You said it was 85°F. I just wanted to let you know that I am Canadian and the temperature in summer in Canada varies greatly because our country is so huge. Where I live in Ontario sometimes the temps in summer can be as high as 104°F or 40°C. although I think I would be worried if it is summer I mean spring or late fall and the temperature was 104°F here. Global warming does effect everywhere all over the world and Canada is no exception. Some places in Canada don’t have very hot summers such as Vancouver island on the West Coast or in Newfoundland and Labrador on the East Coast, however, I did live in Newfoundland . It is a large island in the Atlantic ocean and most summers. It is quite cool about 25°C, but there have been occasions when it is extremely hot up to 40°C or 104°F. Just to let yoycomment

Mark, while I've never been to the State Fair of Texas, I'd love to have you try some of the food at the Big E (Eastern States Exposition), the Fair for all the New England States. Three weeks and millions of LDL calories long every September. I'll bring the Prilosec (and the Tums...)😂

I'll be in Texas at the beginning of next month to get my SENTRI pass so I can go back a forth the Mexico/United States border quickly. Tijuana is an absolutely amazing city but it's a solid $200 cheaper to fly to San Diego and go across the border than it is to fly just a few more miles to Tijuana itself just because of domestic vs international flight. Wacky!

Interesting - I’ve never heard of a SENTRI pass. I don’t mean to be nosy, but since this is a travel channel, may I ask what draws you to Tijuana so often? Of course, answer only if you’re comfortable sharing.

@StamfordBridge I'm perfectly comfortable sharing. The question is whether you'll like what you hear. Here goes: The reason I like going there is because it's exactly the same area and exactly the same beach and ocean as in San Diego but it's far cheaper for hotels and food that are just as nice. But here's the real reason. Waiting at the border are limos. They will take you directly to the clubs. The clubs are huge and there are hundreds of unbelievably hot women working there. I'm talking the hot girl in the string bikini you saw on the beach beautiful! Infinite light-years out of your league beautiful! There's a hotel attached to the club with rooms that have glass showers and mirrors everywhere and large beds with black sheets. You reserve a room online before you go. You can take one of the girls to the room with you. Ask her to show you her health card and take out your Okomoto 001s. $120 gets you 30 minutes of a woman that knows how to make a man the happiest man in the world. It's Disney World for men! Cheaper than a date! You asked! Hope you're okay!

First, Thank you for referring it by its correct title. Its a pet peeve for folks to call it the "Texas State Fair". Its the State Fair Of Texas ;) Thank you for also eating a fletchers with Mustard, ketchup is a condiment for children!!!
