They took Dre's beat and flipped it on him. Dre still ticking because he sold out to the music industry machine...his soul and all word to Lonzo (Wreckin' Crew). The part about 'your set don't accept you, respect you' was aimed at Ice Cube (notice that they are playing basketball at the time- Ice Cube's It Was A Good Day video 'messed around and got a triple double'). Requests: Public Enemy- Black Steel In The Hour Of Chaos. Paris- One Time Fo Ya Mind. Black Moon- I Got Cha Opin. Redman- Funkorama. OGC- No Fear.

When E says "the same records that you're making are paying me" in the 1st verse, know that Dre still had to pay dues to Ruthless Records after he switched camps. So Eazy-E literally got paid for the diss Dre put out. Knowing that makes the verse so much better.
@dfwboxingisback91735 жыл бұрын
Shii...I stayed on the border of Compton/Watts late 80's, when this shit all kicked off. I used to see them all around Compton (even before they formed NWA). Dre used to rock parties at local parks . Compton is a really small city. E didn't even write that song though. The guy with that bat (Dresta) wrote it. He met E like the day before. This was filmed primarily in his hood (NBCC). All the people in the vid are real. The guy blowing smoke at the beginning is "Rythm D" he wrote the funky-ass beat to this.
@linusbodin18734 жыл бұрын
@@dfwboxingisback9173 Dresta wrote like 75 percent of the song, you stated that he wrote the whole song. The other 25 percent was written by BG Knocc Out (the guy that had the same haircut as Eazy and had the third verse) Gangsta dresta wrote him and Eazy's verses meanwhile Knocc Out only wrote himself's verse.

That was a great time for hip hop all around. LA County was blowing up for musically and there were some great things going on. There were also some really tough things going on in the streets, though. For those who were affiliated in Compton, LA, Long Beach, even down in Santa Ana, where I'm from things could get pretty stressful. I wasn't affiliated or anything like that and I know that people are still active, but during the 80's and 90's things were pretty intense.
