Hey Chris! I just found your channel and love the videos! Yeah I own a Motherload ebags. It is AMAZING! I've used it every day for over 10 years. I traveled around the world to 20 countries... 1 bag. If a person is serious about travel then the minor cost difference is nothing. Yeah a ways back one of my ebags got ran over by a truck . It was fine but a buckle broke. I requested a new buckle but instead they just shipped me a 100% brand new replacement bag. yeah their customer support is second to none. I've been a loyal ebags man ever since along with my whole family... I bought over $1000 worth of ebags stuff in my day for personal use and gifts. Anyway keep up the great work Chris. cheers!

Hey Brad! Thank you so much for your comment and kind words! Great info on eBags and how they will stand behind their products. Also love hearing that the Mother Lode has held up so well! Mine is still going strong too. Thanks again and take care!

I have the mother lode jr. and love it. I also lost a sternum strap, called customer service, and they sent me a new pair. I just put a few stitches in to secure it and haven’t had any trouble losing them since-and I’ve been traveling for 5 months in a row now. Also, the way the compression strap works in the ebags is genius, and I don’t know why more companies don’t do it that way! The quality of the bag is great, and I recommend it! Thanks for another great video, Chris!

Emily, hey! That is awesome! Great info. I didn't realize they may send out a new pair. I'm going to have to give it a try. Love the idea of putting a few stitches in too. Thank you!

Hi Chris. Great video as usual. I bought this back a few years ago and crazy enough I still haven't used it! It still even has the tags lol I know crazy right? I guess because most my bags are black and I got the orange it never really grew on me. But you and I pack similarly (with the two sided packing cubes) I just looked up your video on this one. I have an upcoming long weekend trip in the next four weeks and I think I'm going to give it a shot. I have a feeling that I'm going to be a convert as soon as I use it. Thanks again for great content.

Thanks Miamis4me!!! Lol, I completely understand. After I bought the bag, I used it for one or two trips, and then it spent a lot of time in my closet. After I fished it out, I realized I had been missing out and could have got some good use out of the bag. I think you'll like using the bag but let me know what you think. Yes, love the clean dirty packing cubes!

All your videos have been so helpful, especially the comparison videos. Coincidentally, these are products that I'm thinking about as I do my research so it's great to see/hear how they compare to one another from an honest reviewer. My husband and I were considering the eBag, but the flimsy waist strap is what's turning us away. Right now we're leaning towards the Osprey brand bags. Either the Porter 30L/46L or Fairview/Farpoint 40L.

Panda bird, thank you! I greatly appreciate your kind words. I don't think you can go wrong with the Osprey bags you mention. I've not had a chance to take a close look at the Fairview/Farpoint besides a quick look in store, but I've heard very good things about the bags. I'm definitely a fan of the Porter, great bag. I would love to hear which bag you decide on.

@@ChrisU, so we went to REI to try on the Porter and Farpoint/Fairview. We really like the compartments of the Porter, but the Farpoint/Fairview was much more comfortable and supportive (due to it having more robust straps). Thus, we're going to go with the Farpoint/Fairview (his/hers) for him and I. I hope to see you review them in the future. As always, your reviews are so helpful. Keep up the great work!

That's awesome! Thanks for the update panda bird! I've put off looking at the Farpoint for some time but it sounds like I'm going to have to give in and take a look at it : ) ! I'm glad you found the right bag. Now comes the fun part, using it!

Good comparison. I am wondering if that handle on the rear of the Amazon Basics pack is a "pass-thru" to attach to a roller bag? Of course I love my motherlode junior, especially that top quick grab pocket. That's where I put my liquids. Easy to remove when going through security (international travel). I have tsa-pre, so not necessary in the states. Thanks again for your review!

Hey Global Adventurer! Lol, I think you're probably right about the handle on the back of the AmazonBasics bag! Didn't expect to see one on a larger bag : ) As always, thanks!

I'd be interested in seeing a comparison of the 2 motherload ebags. I'm 5' tall and am thinking the junior might suit me better size wise, but I'm wondering if I can get all my stuff in it. Thanks for the informative videos!
@ChrisU
@ChrisU 5 жыл бұрын
Hi Michael! Thank you! I had originally bought both sizes but ended up keeping the junior. At the time, I was more concerned with maximizing space in a "smaller" bag. I was unsure which airlines I might use the bag on so I wanted some flexibility. If I had it to do over, I would probably go with the larger size mainly because it's good to have the extra room if needed. With that being said, the junior has great space for the size of the bag. So, I could see both bags potentially fitting your need. Take care!

Hi Chris, seriously love your reviews. Just wondering what you thought of the buckles on both bags where they connect the shoulder/backpack straps. I've read a few reviews of the Amazon one which says they fail really easily so I may go for the ebags mother lode weekender instead. What do you think?
@ChrisU
@ChrisU 5 жыл бұрын
Hi Laura and thank you! If you’re not opposed to paying the price difference, I would go with the eBags. To me, the eBags is going to be a little better quality plus I feel they would back the bag if you had any issues. I do like the Amazon bag for the price though, so a solid choice if on a budget. Hope this helps. Take care!

Where did you find the ebag jr. for $68? Amazon has them for $99.
@ChrisU
@ChrisU 5 жыл бұрын
Hey Jim! If I remember correctly, when I uploaded this video eBags had the bag priced around $69. I purchased the bag in August of 2016 for approximately $68 on eBags' website. From my experience with this bag and eBags brand bags, prices fluctuate tremendously. I found an old email I hadn't deleted from April and the bag was marked at $84 then. I suggest signing up for eBags' emails because they are good about sending out sale information. Amazon will sometimes follow along with eBags price so you can decide which site would be best to use. In my opinion, I would wait because I'm guessing you'll be able to find the bag for less than the current $99. Take care!

@@ChrisU Thanks for the info. I need the bag fairly quickly so I ordered it on Amazon. I plan to use it for several years so I'll get my money's worth out of it. BTW, this was an informative video. Thanks for that, too.

Could the ebag be considered a personal bag? Or only a carry on? I already have a carry on suitcase and just want a large oversized bag for souvenirs.
@ChrisU
@ChrisU 5 жыл бұрын
Hey Kanesha! I've read and heard of people using it as a personal item but I'm very hesitant to recommend it for that purpose. Definitely on the large size for a possible personal item. Awesome travel bag though, especially if you can catch it on sale.

@@ChrisU thanks! They need to come up with an even smaller one. I love the bag I just can't can't justify the price or size if I can't use it as a personal bag.

Kanesha, that's an awesome idea! I would love to see eBags make a smaller version and market it as a personal item! They would sell a ton of bags if so.
